Ernest Shurtleff Holmes

Today's topic, Peace, Poise, and Power.

Ernest Holmes said that poise is founded on peace, that power is the result of the union of peace with poise.

Or we could say, peace and poise equal power.

But let's look at the dictionary definition of each piece.

The kingdom of heaven is within you.

Within you is the kingdom of God and within the kingdom of God is peace.

Ernest Holmes said, a conscious knowledge of this peace, coupled with the definite use of the law of mind, gives to each the possibility of freedom from the bondage of doubt, fear, and uncertainty.

Imagine your world without doubt, fear, and uncertainty.

But ours is to learn how to use that power for our own good.

Ernest Holmes talked about a power that we are one with and we can use.

It's always available.

And that is what gives faith its foundation.

There's still a God-shaped hole that hasn't been filled.

Now, let's go to the United Church of Religious Science with Dr. Ernest Holmes.

And the reason I chose this one is because he is representative and this particular group is representative of a movement called the New Thought Movement.

which was the precursor to the New Age movement that has been so strong in our generation.

And I'll start with some, hopefully, some wise things.

And to be wise, I'm going to quote Ernest Holmes, Viktor Frankl, little Emma Curtis Hopkins, and me.

So...

There will be some wisdom today.

It's poetically beautiful.

So some wisdom in that is we embrace change because life itself is continually expressing in new ways.

As Ernest Holmes said, we are living in a world of continual change.

So to just embrace it.

our creator, our source, God, infinite good.

Today, as we advance with clarity and joy on our path, we will explore and embody the prayer principle in Ernest Holmes' teaching that the answer to the prayer is in the prayer when it is prayed.

Let us continue to keep our belief and unwavering faith in the truth alive, peacefully strong, and in consistent partnership with the nature of spirit, while we shine our light brightly, making the world a better place, spirit to spirit.

Even the silent word going forth from you isn't without power.

There's no difference between the spiritual mind treatment, which is affirmative prayer, and what it does.
