Ériu

Good, yeah.

Yeah, most people haven't even, even people who are into Irish gods and Celtic mythology often don't hear about the goddess Eriu.

Area or era, depending on what Irish you speak.

But she's a wonderful eponymous goddess.

Yeah, there's a lot of Gaelic stuff and Irish stuff.

We'll jump back to Eriu and the Celtic mysteries in a bit, but let's stay on this stuff for now.

Uh, it almost, it almost alludes to the fact that they knew something that we didn't, didn't know in terms of the landscape and whatnot.

Um, so this cat stone, it's also said to be the burial place of Ériu, which was, uh, which is, is where the name for Ireland, uh, was taken.

So this is a goddess, um, who was basically responsible for the land and the fertility and the productivity of the land.

Um, so Ireland today is called Ériu after her.

So she's said to be under this cat stone And it's also said to be h- the home of the Tuatha Dé Danann, which were Ireland's mythologic- m- mythological gods and goddesses, uh, who ruled the country.

But what happened to them is that they ended up getting in this big fight, right? [laughs] This big battle with the first, um, the first people, uh, the Milesians, the first humans, and they lost.
