A- and so for me, I think it's been the greatest blessing in disguise the end of last year losing all my kind of legacy media jobs and moving into this kind of independent space that I'm in now.

It is the greatest example of... of the utter hypocrisy and insanity of all of these people.

Joe, they are the same.

They are all the same.

He is essentially now platforming a terrorist group that would hang every person he was platforming a decade ago.

And it does not compute, at least if he had some awareness already, of how stupid this all was, I'd have more respect for him.

What is your perspective on what the heck has been going on here in the U.S.?

I think it's insane.

And it's one thing to have these voices loud and saying the kinds of things that they are saying.

It's another thing entirely to have them elected into office and be in a position where they can actually speak.

But I would love to get your perspective on that.

I mean, this is, this is incredible! Like, this is true history happening right now.

Really well put, and I, and I think that's something that's lost a little bit in, in the chaos, the violence, and the tragedy, because it is all, all of those things.

But i- in a positive, exciting way, we're, we're on, on the edge of something absolutely phenomenal if they can hold on.

And Donald Trump is helping when he sends messages like that.

He, he, he is helping immensely it- to give them courage, and, and they've got- they've got it in hordes, but they need hope.

And I, I look at what is happening [chuckles] right now, and there are, are a lot of indications that America could be about to intervene militarily.

And intervene, people get, "Oh, uh..." What America can do here will benefit America as much as, as the Iranian people and everyone else around the world.

It's been hard.

It's been hard for the entire community.

I think it was already hard for the Jewish community here in Australia, of which I'm not a part of.

I just... um someone with a bit of common sense and sensible enough to realize they deserve the same protection that everyone in our society and since October 7 this country's really failed them in so many different ways but it's it's disconcerting I think for a lot of people there was a build-up so they weren't surprised which is an awful thing to say particularly given we live in a country with such tight gun laws we haven't had a mass shooting in decades because we had a an awful incident in port arthur in tasmania and the prime minister at the time john howard came down really strongly on that so we just don't see this kind of thing here so first of all a mass shooting is it's something that's not even on the radar for most australians secondly it was targeted at a religious group a bunch of jews celebrating you know the festival of light hanukkah and thirdly it was islamic extremists who you know in the name of isis islamic state are shooting people like animals on our most famous beach in australia and you know there's a lot of anger i think you know grief and shock turns into anger and again that word shock is is just is is a constant but not surprise and i think that's the really key part here there are those of us who have begged begged the government to take this threat seriously, who have watched it unfold, who have been a part of the avalanche of domestic threats and harassment and, you know, synagogue bombings, Joe.

... about the immigration situation there, because the country does seem to be grappling with something in a, in a really weird way because again, you guys are so remote, everyone kind of thought, "I don't know, we're just gonna like surf and have great abs," and then this thing happened, and now they, it seems like you guys don't know exactly what to do with it.

Yeah, i- i- it's a fascinating area of, of discussion and it's also somewhat terrifying in lots of ways, and I guess different to the United States, particularly prior to Trump.

Uh, we differ from you guys in that ours is legal.

The, the vast...

in fact, almost all of it, i- is legal immigration.

A- and we have governments who rely heavily upon that for their bottom line because it suits them immensely.

Who it doesn't suit is not only everyday Australians who can't afford to enter the property market, who can't find jobs, who, who wait in traffic for hours and hours, who, who struggle to get medical care and, and all the facilities, but also the incredible immigrants who have come to Australia over the last 100 years or so who have contributed immensely to this country.

What do you make of the general state of alt media, and what do you do to make sure you don't become, uh, affected by all of those pressures, to whatever extent that's even possible?
