Erika Ahern

Uh, my returning guest has done a very fine video about the real reason why modern Catholic music is so bad, and she's an experienced journalist and author and producer and host of The Loop Cast and The Deep.

Erika Ahern, welcome back to The Catholic Current.

Thank you so much for having me, Father.

I'm looking forward to this.

I think one of the reasons why there's a mania of anti-silence is that if you're not doing something, if you're merely silent, then you're letting it take longer than it absolutely needs to, and I've seen nearly violent rebellions against that.

And I think a proper understanding of music paired with a proper understanding of silence is going to get us out of the clutches of an awful lot of mischief and an awful lot of misery, which is what we'll talk about in the next segment.

Friends, when we come back, we're gonna continue our conversation with Erika Ahern of Lupe Cast and The Deep.

We're talking about why so much modern Catholic music is just so awful, and we're going to offer alternatives as well.
