So I'm wondering if you could talk a little bit more about the TMS procedure or about the, the work that Wave Neuroscience is doing.
11:59
Yeah, absolutely.
12:00
And the TMS process is a 1.8 Tesla MRI-grade magnetic coil.
12:06
The unique properties of physics that can be engaged, the first order principles are that magnets can uniquely deliver energy across a solid barrier.
12:15
And because we have this one centimeter piece of calcified skull that sits between us and the outside world, rather than having to do some kind of surgical invasive procedure- You can put a coil around the area you wanna stimulate and in a perpendicular direction cause neurons to fire.
12:31
That's part of the elegance of this procedure is there's no surgery required, there's no anesthesia.
12:37
You sit in a comfortable chair for between 15 to 30 minutes, and this coil will provide gentle pulses to the specified area of the brain and train, hopefully, that area of the brain to rewire to its-- what we call an endogenous rhythm.
16:52
Some of it I saw, actually, some of my clients that were considering TMS, I had to make sure-- They were like, "You're not gonna zap my brain?" That's the idea, is like [chuckles] you're gonna send lasers into my head or something, right? But really, like you said earlier, once veterans understand the benefit, not just the benefit but the potential positive outcomes, it can really be life-changing.
