Aron Tishbola, who's signed for Kelly about 15 times, he's begun to find a wee bit of form again.

The one who's played most, I would say, is probably Erik Ring, who's a Swedish winger that was signed for Lincoln and he's quite physical and it strikes me as the type of player that if he could get a goal then there might be more to come there but it's all really the guys from last season the likes of Tom Lowry Greg Kilty Hugo and John Jules have been the kind of standard so I wouldn't say any of the signings other than maybe the centre half I was talking about for Hull have really sparkled yet

You guys are setting up as a kind of 4-3-3, aren't you? You haven't went back to 3 at the back, have you? You're kind of still...

McCann kind of sticks to that 4-3-3, doesn't he? So it's...

Eric Ring finally getting to play as a winger rather than as an inverted fullback or whatever it was he was doing earlier in the season I thought he was very good as well down the right hand side as well but like the Celtic schedule it was just started very poorly looked apprehensive conceded a goal and then to be fair for about 25 minutes half an hour Motherwell looked okay and looked like the better team and the one more likely to score subsequently did second half didn't start particularly well but managed to literally bundle a ball over the line and this is the one of the things which is a problem from last season and this season is we now simply just don't keep the ball a reason why last year we were so effective it's why Callum Ward ended up as part of the team of the season despite the fact that I think we're all in agreement Callum Ward was not a particularly good goalkeeper and was prone to making errors left right and centre fortunately he just didn't have any saves to make for the majority of the season so kind of by default because everyone else's goalkeepers were absolutely abysmal he got to be the goalkeeper of the team of the season but we don't we don't keep the ball don't retain the ball and like I'm kind of wary of the fact that Kilmarnock were good in this game it was good fun I did really enjoy as well with like 15 minutes to go in an attempt to see out the game instead of bringing on a defender Neil McCann brought on a centre forward which in the grand scheme of things is an absolutely correct thing to do because Kilmarnock can't defend but fortunately for them Motherwell can't defend even less worse more badly Motherwell cannot defend could not keep Waynes out of close for the entirety of this game so subsequently bringing on a centre forward rather than try to stiffen up your back line is a good thing to do I thought Catherine McCarthy was good in the defence for Kilmarnock one of few defensive high points in this game we'll say and even in this game we felt like everything was kind of conspiring against Kilmarnock to a degree Bailey Rice getting injured moments after Kamara got subbed off which felt very weird but then given how the game played out Neil McCann was absolutely right and tactically we thought oh Scandinavian manager what I would say is from a Motherwell perspective there has been at the start of the season there was a consistent drumbeat around the fact that what was going to happen was it was going to be an evolution of what happened last year there was going to be small tweaks around the edges but ultimately we were going to retain the same principles that we continue to do as a football team which we saw against Hibernian in the opening day now history has not been kind to that result particularly because they're absolutely garbage but the way in which we played that game the way in which we played against Helsinki the way in which we played against Falkirk the way we played against Torsoven even the way we played against Freiburg was exactly the same way as what we did last year we took chances on the ball but we retained possession as best we possibly could over the course of a game Because, fortunately, we are absolute specky-wearing dweebs, we have access to various statistical things, so I had a bit of a dig between the Berlin game and this game.

And, like, from watching the game yesterday, my overwhelming feeling was that we are getting further away from God with every minute that passes.

Matthew FentonPANELIST

I think there's a difference because Mikel was our club record signing whereas Eric Ring was a big deal but I don't think the club made as big a deal out of Eric as they did for Mikel like if you've been to one of the events with Jez you'll know how much work went into the Mikel transfer I'm not saying not a lot of work went into the Eric Ring transfer, but you don't splash your money on a big striker like Lincoln did and then just say, well, he's not good enough to play.

Do you know what I mean? You do that with a low knee like they have done with Ethan Wheatley.

Uh, and Ring cutting on his left foot should've hit the target.

Uh, and in the second half, they came out and created even more opportunities.

John Jules had one disallowed for offside.

You know, they, they still really tried to press the ball e- even higher, I think, or, or w- maybe not higher, but certainly with as many more bodies in the second half.
Ian McCallPANELIST

And they kept John Jules on, who was almost like a, a second number nine beside Joe Hugill.
Ian McCallPANELIST

So Kilty and Ring did well, you know, Lowery and Tish Bola.

I thought second half they, they, they played really well and, you know, they, th- they were really gutsy, and, and I think that's what you, what you're meaning, Kenny.
