Erik McCoy

Not a bad decision.

No one was shocked about the Saints drafting Eric McCoy in the second round.

Or actually, you know what? People were shocked about the Saints drafting Eric McCoy in the second round because no one thought he would be there in the second round because he was a bona fide first rounder.

No one was shocked.

about Cesar Ruiz going in the first round.

And people were more so thinking of him as maybe a center as opposed to a guard.

And so maybe that was a little bit of the shock.

Prize there, too, because the Saints have just drafted Eric McCoy and gotten Eric McCoy going.

There's no level of overreacting to this too much because it was a problem they knew about, and then they went out, and this was probably the worst rushing performance I've ever seen by any team ever in any game.

I talked to Eric McCoy after the game.

He said that they basically picked up on their tendencies and had a plan to attack their tendencies.

And that was just kind of it.

So after the game, Kellen Moore asked about Tyler Shuck.

He's like, I think that's kind of any young QB that you're putting a lot on.

Eric McCoy on Prompted says, we're making life way too hard for Tyler Shuck.

I think he's the future of the franchise and we're not doing anything to support him.

And it's because there's no point in playing them.

And this is, you know, very similar... um frustrations that i had coming out of that vikings game which is like i would love a sense that y'all appreciate how poorly this is going as much as i appreciate how poorly this is going and that's why i go in there and i talk to eric mccoy and it's like oh he gets it why can't the coaches project that they get it too and i don't want them to run around like like oh my gosh the world is ending like that's not good either but man like Just one time, I would like Kellen Moore to step up to that podium after his team lays an absolute egg on what I consider to be national television.

It wasn't like a primetime game, but there's a lot of people watching that game around the world that typically don't watch the Saints play.

So that's not to say that he has no flaws.

That's not to say that he's a star or anything, but I think we need to at least look a little bit wider and open the lens up.

I did chat with Eric McCoy after the game.

Again, he's like one of the guys.

And, you know, five carries that were maybe for two or three yards, didn't have a single carry over three yards.

And, you know, and Eric McCoy said it after the game, Tyler's kind of said it as well in the sense that it's unsustainable.

Like they're putting too much pressure on a young quarterback to, to do everything.

And, you know, you come out of that game, you look at the line, you're like 30 to 38, which is honestly kind of remarkable.

And, you know, five carries that were maybe for two or three yards, didn't have a single carry over three yards.

And, you know, and Eric McCoy said it after the game, Tyler's kind of said it as well in the sense that it's unsustainable.

Like they're putting too much pressure on a young quarterback to, to do everything.

And, you know, you come out of that game, you look at the line, you're like 30-38, which is honestly kind of remarkable.

That is just super tough.

You go back to what after the game center Eric McCoy said, look, Tyler Shuck is the future of this franchise.

Tyler Shuck is a very good quarterback.

You're putting a lot of pressure on him in that position and the passing game overall to make the right decisions and right reads the whole game.
