Eric Wilbur

Somebody said a punter did that a little much.

No, you've clearly never met Eric Wilbur if, um, that is a little much.

This is a person who also used to be a scout team safety for them because, you know, punting wasn't enough work during practice, so he needed something else.

Uh, he's incredibly intense.

Right out.

I, I mean, I, so last night I talked a lot with Eric about it.

You know, Eric, um, played for Zook and Meyer, so he was there during that transition time.

And in 2005, they went to Tuscaloosa and they got their ass kicked.

And for anybody that's is my age, it wasn't the Alabama that everybody's used to, you know, of the Alabama.

That was Mike Shula got fired the year, a year later.

Alabama was on par with a Missouri at that point, or a South Carolina, or something along those lines, and they absolutely waxed them there.

And I will never forget getting a text message from Eric that said, "Team plane just landed, but I don't wanna see anybody, and that includes you." So he literally went and sat in the stadium, like, in the empty seats of our stadium until, like, 5:00 in the morning because he was so pissed about how that shook out.
