And I want to just really dive into that today because last time we had you on to talk about it, I think we were only an episode or two in.
9:55
Yeah, then to reboot and revisit, Travel Perks is a 15-minute program.
10:01
It is a travel log.
10:03
In other words, it is through my eyes, my perspective of what these towns, cities, communities, regions are all about from a wide-eyed perspective as somebody who's visiting for the first time, right? I think you and your team at Blazer are I've done a lot of videos in the tourism space and have for years.
10:27
And you, like myself, saw a pretty gaping hole when it came to tourism videos and destination marketing in terms of opportunities.
10:42
an abundance of beautiful videos out there showcasing these great places, but nothing really contextual, nothing with sound bites and perspectives and unique takes from those that live there, those that visit there, those that are regulars from the area.
11:01
So Travel Perks is sort of marrying my storytelling capabilities with the great visuals that Blaze Air has done for the years, whether it's on the ground or in the air, and we've just been able to kind of really Do some great work and produce some great episodes.
12:56
We still talk about how that episode really set us up for success and some of the locals that really bought in, whether it was Ken with Lakes Jam or the Foy Boys out at Ernie's or even... mr colton mayor here draining a 30-foot putt that's true how important was that first episode to us
13:52
Awesome.
13:52
No, and, and, and she was there back in 2022, um, introducing Governor Walz up on stage at the University of Minnesota when it was announced that the, that, uh, Minnesota was getting the USA Games.
14:04
And, and throughout the course of the last few years she's been really involved with just all sorts of ambassador work and, you know, just tr- trumpeting the cause of, of Special Olympics, which ultimately is inclusion.
14:15
And she was very involved in Unified Sports.
14:17
So Special Olympics, um, is, uh, is sports, well, it's so many things now.
14:22
It's, it's grown to be, um, in, in the workplace and in the schools and all this stuff, but, but at, at the core it was, it was sports, right? And so it was sports for kids with intellectual disabilities and young adults and adults.
14:34
And, and over time Unified Sports became such a movement of, of Special Olympics, uh, uh, on the national level, um, they were really pushing Unified Sports, which is, uh, uh, athletes with and without intellectual disabilities coming together on the same field.

12 MINS LATER

27:03
So if you were gonna tell people what you learned, the hurdles you had, you know, the stormy days, like when you transitioned, ma- massive transition from being on television to doing your own thing and working for Eric Perkins, what, what was the thing you learned that maybe you didn't think, or what was the thing that you gleaned from that experience?
26:17
What, what was the thing you learned that maybe you didn't think, or what was the thing that you gleaned from that experience?
26:23
I learned that there's a certain equity in building relationships.
26:28
And that the, like, you know, when I left, I was like, I don't know what I'm going to do.
26:35
uh but let's figure this out and um i started taking a lot of meetings a lot of meetings right and just like and and kind of tapped into my network of people that i knew and i didn't really know how many people i knew because it was just all kind of accumulating and like oh i got now this person's a linkedin friend and this person's a facebook friend but who are these people right and so i kind of like opened into that Pandora's box and figured out who all I knew.
27:02
And then kind of went through my Rolodex and looked at all the people.
27:05
Oh my gosh, look at all these people in my context.
27:07
It's just like, I knew all these people and I was just like, let's, let's, let's just talk to them.
29:23
Those commercials were hilarious.
