So the group had all formed a bond- And there's a really cringey moment in the show where I come in and go, "Here's the new guy.

He was in Vegas." And the group had already formed a bond, and I was there, "So let's all give him a big group hug." And they all come over and give me a hug, and it's the cringiest- Yeah ...

moment in me life, I only have to say.

[laughs] But look, I, I, the intentions were good, you know.

It was amazing, 'cause that's, uh, 2006, I didn't realize was bang on 20 years.

Um, I have a 20-minute set, and I pretty much know- More or less what that 20-minute set is gonna be.

And, uh, and my missus is still going, "Why? Why did you give all that up?" I'll actually tell you a little story.

I'd won a, I'd won an award with IBM.

It was, uh, an IBM global sales force award, and what they do is they bring you, they, they send you and your partner to a random city around the world.

We were sent to Rome, and there was 20 other competition winners from IBM.

And every night we went back to the ho- We stayed in the greatest hotel in Rome.

Every night we went back to the room, there was a watch for me, bracelet for her.

I played a football match after Rev.

on my football team.

I used to play with the Cardiff Inn up in Finglas.

They were a proper fucking pub team.

All hard men.

All the fays, all the roopers.

So they were like, "Fucking hell, we're going to this." And they all throwing their jackets and coats and all.

But, like, I do it in me stand-up, but the, the story itself was I got to the pitch, and I felt kind of...

I was, "No, you're grand, you're grand, you're grand.

Keep it together.

You're grand." Went into the dressing room.

The boys were all, you know, how's things? They're like, "Oh, good, yeah, all good." Put the kit on, looked fantastic, walked out onto the pitch.

And you had to kind of audition for the show.

I did it.

I was out in Ballymun.

He came to Ballymun.

There was a day of auditions and they picked six people from those auditions.

And in fairness, you encourage people to go to League of Ireland games.

Yeah, I'm a massive Bowers fan, massive League of Ireland fan.

And, you know, when you see Pico on the world stage like that, looking completely in place, doesn't look out of place at all, putting in unbelievable performances, just goes to show you the level of talent that we have in the League of Ireland.

People used to laugh at the League of Ireland and it was the poor cousin of all the other sports in Ireland.

Like, you know, you've got your guy, your Horland, your Rugby.

But the domestic game in Ireland is on the rise at the moment.

The popularity is huge and the quality is there.
