Eric Garcetti

Anna, the migrant daughter of farm workers, uses her story as fuel for her work.

As chief of staff for Los Angeles's mayor, Eric Garcetti, she is vaccinating a city, building parks, marshalling historic protests into groundbreaking legislation, sheltering and feeding the poor, finding jobs for the youth.

And through that, I met Eric Garcetti when I moved to Los Angeles to organize here in LA.

So many people don't know what the mayor is supposed to be doing, and don't know the limits that a mayor has.

And so she has that challenge, and that's the challenge of being an incumbent, right? Why aren't things better? Why aren't things more affordable? Why aren't...

Look, homelessness is not a responsibility for government to solve.

It is not Mayor Karen Bass's fault that there's homeless in Los Angeles, nor was it Garcetti's or Villaraigosa's.

It's not government's fault that there is a growing or stable or declining level of homelessness because they're not in charge of that.

These are individual people making, hold for it, individual choices it is government's responsibility to and to to remove it right to move it from the public space that's their responsibility but not their responsibility to solve homelessness and loss is trying to solve homelessness with homes and these people don't need homes they need help and

We need $2 billion to give the seamless, wonderful experience everyone expects.

Well, when Garcetti was selling this thing, he said that...

They weren't going to need any tax money.

Don't worry, LA will handle it.

I guess Rick Caruso last time around was a right-of-center candidate who had some degree of viability.

But prior to that, Eric Garcetti never faced a threat.

Before him, Antonio Villaraigosa never faced a threat from the right.

Statewide, when Gavin Newsom ran both times, he had token opposition, whether it be John Cox or Brian Dolly, who weren't active on the campaign trail.
