Eric Gales

In our lifetime.

With more praise coming from musicians such as Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Eric Gales, John 5, Megadeth's Kiko Loreo, the world's greatest bass educator.

But he really can play what he's playing.

He can play, but he's not doing it live.

One of my recent guests was a world-renowned guitar player and musician.

His name is Eric Gales.

Okay.

Eric is beloved by the greatest greats of guitar players.

Out since April on Cleopatra Records, 11 tracks, mostly Howlin' Wolf, and something like 20 guests.

Eric Gales and Billy Sheehan on Backdoor Man, Dee Snider on Little Red Rooster, Ted Nugent on Spoonful, Steve Morse and Joe Lynn Turner on Bad Stuff, Rudy Sartzo, Alex Skolnick, Pat Travers, Bumblefoot, a record that's either very carefully cast or just a good phone book.

And that's going to be my first question, I think.

60 years behind the kit four bands that mattered one book one hit one aussie story and he's still touring with vanilla fudge who by the way are still not in the rock and roll hall of fame and i'm sure he's got something to say about that too he's carmine a piece the legendary man himself carmine how you doing man i'm good how are you i mean this is a big deal i'm talking to it to it to a legend this is wonderful thank you again

It was me playing it, but I'm imitating Mars Jennings' drum part, with a bigger, fatter drum style, with a little more of my feel, my fills, you know? I just figured, well, as we did with Cactus, it was like blues rock.

This was even heavy blues rock.

and let me get some cool players on it you know so we got ty taber on this one now on uh backdoor man we got billy sheen and eric gales i mean eric alzain a heavy metal guy but he's sir hell heavy rock blues rock

yeah you

Even being reposted by Nuno Bettencourt, saying we will not witness any other human being playing a live solo with this kind of ridiculous precision, creativity and speed in our lifetime.

With more praise coming from musicians such as Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Eric Gales, John Five, Megadeth's Kiko Loreo, the world's greatest bass educator in his own mind, Jeff Berlin, Bobby Lewis...

Nolly Getgood, Richard Shaw, Tommy Lee, and Pantera's Rex Brown, who's actually seen him live.

But there's just one tiny, tiny problem.

Alec Bailey was born in 1996, country music singer-songwriter who also became a viral sensation for performing acoustic covers online, then relocated to Nashville to release some original music.

Eric Gales was born in 1974.

He rose to fame as a child prodigy blues rock guitar virtuoso before releasing a bunch of solo albums and also being known as one of the modern masters of the guitar.

Artists who unfortunately passed away on October the 29th include in 1829 when, since we talked earlier about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, we might as well put a bookend to this and talk about the passing of Maria Anna Mozart.

He's a wonderful player.

And as far as guitar stuff, I mentioned Eric Gales earlier.

When I was growing up, I was really into Django and Wes Montgomery and Lonnie Johnson and all these blues guys.

You know, I think Bonamassa is great, of course, you know.

Alright, so some shows that are coming up that I'm going to see.

I'm going to see next Saturday, not this coming Saturday, but the next Saturday, November 7th, I'm seeing the Eric Gales Trio.

with

Billy Sheehan on bass.

that? No.

What? No.

I have some albums that Eric Gales plays on.

That guy's a monster player.

Gin Blossom.

Mark Farner's American Band, Eric Gales, Gary Hoey, Vanessa Collier, Anthony Gomes, Two Wolf, and The Retrograde.

Yeah, after Jim Blossom, you lost me, but that'd be fun.

Huh.

So my old evil spirit can catch a ground muffin right I say me and the devil was walking side by side I say me and the devil was walking side by side And I'm going to beat my woman up until I get satisfied Thank you.

Music there from Eric Gales and Norris Johnson doing the old Robert Johnson track, Me and the Devil Blues.

We also heard Crossroads Blues from Taj Mahal.

Now, Crossroads Blues, most of us are going to be familiar with it through the band Cream when they covered it way back when.

And then this is, if you're a musician, you probably know these names.

Eric Gales, great blues guitar player.

Dennis Chambers on drums.

And bassist Billy Sheehan, better known as GCS, will be at the Kent stage.
