The co-writing, as far as Take Me Away, I had already done this song for my first album called Psycho Ward, but the music was the same, and it was produced like the demo, and then Eric Bloom wrote the lyrics to that, and he turned them about science fiction.

But that was also because we shared the same manager, I didn't like what they were doing with it, so what I'd do is they gave me permission to sneak in at night, and I'd put in keyboard parts, guitar parts, and

stuff that you don't know on the record.

I'm completely stunned that the catalogs lasted this long.

I remember Eric Bloom saying way back when, when we had big crowds at our shows, he says, someday the leader of our country...

He's going to be out there raising his fist at a show.

Hey, that's a great thing to say because you guys played in front of so many people.

God.

Uh, Eric Bloom, though, from Blue Öyster Cult says that he didn't hear any of the music until he arrived at his hotel from New York, so, and just before going in the studio.

So maybe some of the guys got their tapes in time.

Maybe s- some guys didn't get it at all, who knows.

Lead vocals, the, the guys singing the verses, we obviously have Ronnie James Dio.

We have, uh, Dave Meniketti from Y&T, Rob Halford from Judas Priest, Kevin Dubrow from Quiet Riot, Eric Bloom from Blue Öyster Cult, Paul Shortino from Rough Cutt, Jeff Tate from Queensrÿche.

So [lip smack] you know, i- in, in some respects, uh, you know, there, there's subtle ways of looking at this, right? There's, there's actually, you know, this may even be a- another episode.

Maybe I even did something like this, but, um, when bands, uh, you know, I think of Buck Dharma and even Eric Bloom, where some bands, and Dinosaur Jr. does this as well, where some bands have, uh, a pretty, pretty generally not super heavy metal vocal over heavy music and Dinosaur Jr. is a little bit like that.

Uh, Mudhoney does this- Does this loud, quiet, hard alternative thing as well.
