In February, Ergo, the Munich Re-owned insurer that also operates across the Baltic region, announced it will cut around a thousand jobs in Germany by two thousand thirty, roughly two hundred a year.

The company's personal director said, uh, Ergo intends to, in her words, "intensively use artificial intelligence" in call centers and claims handling, uh, the two departments namely, named directly.

About five hundred employees are being offered retaining into other roles.

Ergo isn't alone.

Alliance partners announced, uh, eighteen hundred layoffs last November, citing the same shift.

Now, the company has announced comparable cuts in Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia.
