Ephrath

Verse 2.

And as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath.

And I buried her there in the way of Ephrath, the same is Bethlehem, special town Bethlehem.

It's the same Bethlehem where Jesus was born.

Rachel was buried nearby.

They shall be called by the name of their brothers and their inheritance.

As for me, when I came from Paran to my sorrow, Rachel died in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath.

And I buried her there on the way to Ephrath, that is, Bethlehem.

And when Israel saw Joseph's sons, he said, Who are these? And Joseph said to his father, These are my sons whom God has given me here, And he said to them, Bring them to me, please, that I may bless them.

Surprisingly, what Jacob does here is initiate an adoption ritual with Joseph's two sons, giving his grandsons the same status as his two oldest sons, Reuben and Simeon.

I will not go into the tabernacle of my house I will

not go up to the couch of my bed I will not give sleep to mine eyes nor slumber to mine eyelids nor rest to my temples until I find a place for the Lord a tabernacle for the God of Jacob behold we heard of it in Ephrathah we found it in the fields of the wood let us enter into his tabernacles let us worship at the place where his feet stood

arise O Lord into thy rest thou and the ark of thine holiness thy priests shall clothe themselves with righteousness and thy Saints shall exalt for the sake of thy servant David turn not away the face of thine anointed

the Lord swear in truth to David and he will not annul it saying of the fruit of thy body will I set a king upon thy throne if thy children will keep my covenant and these my testimonies which I shall teach them their children also shall sit upon thy throne forever for the Lord has elected Sion he has chosen her for a habitation for himself saying this is my rest forever here will I dwell for I have chosen it I will surely bless her provision I will satisfy her poor with bread I will clothe her priests with salvation and her Saints shall greatly exult

how he swear to the Lord and vowed to the God of Jacob saying I

I will not go into the tabernacle of my house I will not go

We found it in the fields of the wood.

I will not suffer mine eyes to sleep, nor mine eyelids to slumber, neither the temples of my head to take any rest, until I find out a place for the temple of the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Lo, we heard of the same at Ephrathah, and found it in the wood.

We will go into his tabernacle, and fall low on our knees before his footstool.

Arise, O Lord, into thy resting place, thou and the ark of thy strength.
