EPDM rubber

Yeah, because, you know, one of the most vulnerable areas of the roof is where there is a penetration, right? You tend to see leaks there first, and it's usually because a product broke down or, you know, rusted or something happened.

But Wilmar pipe collars are made out of EPDM.

Mm-hmm.

Kind of like your secret weapon.

Done and done.

Yeah, yeah.

And, you know, the EPDM Roofing Association just sent out a press release earlier this week about the longevity of EPDM and some studies that they were doing.

So it really does, you know, last a long time.

Yeah, abs- absolutely.

So the, the, the, uh... for those who aren't familiar with a VersaFleece membrane, so it's the standard, uh, formulations of our kinda tried and true EPDM, TPO, and PVC, and inclusive of KE membrane.

It's all those same formulations that we're used to working with and contractors are used to working with in the field and have been for quite a while, uh, with a polyester fleece that's laminated to the backside of that membrane.

Uh, and what that brings is a whole host of benefits from, uh, increased puncture resistance, increased tear, uh, resistance.

Yeah.

So, uh, once we take a look at the system and kind of evaluate if any trouble areas where there could be a potentially compromised system or wet insulation, we wanna remove and replace all of that, uh, before we kinda get into either pressure washing, or if it's a granulated surface, we wanna either, uh, use a leaf blower or a power broom to get any loose particles off.

So we wanna, we want the cleanest surface we can get to adhere a flexible, um, dash adhesive to, whether that be on the single-ply side, uh, pressure washing, get a nice clean EPDM, TPO, or TPO surface, uh, or removing granulars or aluminized coating, something like that.

Anything that could potentially flake off or compromise that adhesion, we wanna, we wanna get a, a nice clean surface prior to, uh, putting that new, uh, membrane down.

We're able to focus on training what materials are compatible with each other.

We're able to focus on thermal values of roofing rather than saying, yeah, let's just do EPDM here.

We can say we're going to do EPDM over top of this other membrane called TPO.

And here are the reasons why I think this is going to be best for this roof.

so a consultative very educated salesperson or estimator up front with fantastic communication through the process so the over delivering sounds to me like building a quality roof but also um the over-delivering is that they might not expect is, is in the communication.

This is a secure system.

Um, currently we are just limited to thermoplastics, which means membranes such as TPO, PVC, and mod, but we will eventually have a system for EPDM.

We're also adding our own eye bolt insert, and we'll have a guy-wire accessory for this item.

We're still in the testing stage on that, but this will also bring this product the ability to attach to a parafoot wall.

And I watched an episode recently of just my brain thinking like this that could never be traced.

that would be a nightmare for everybody, is this company removed ballast from EPDM roofs.

With a giant vac truck, they'd suck the ballast off the roofs, and then they would give it to other companies to use in parking lots.

Well, what if the company that they were taking the ballast off is a plating company and that's right underneath their stack pipes? I mean, that would be contaminated, wouldn't it? Could be.

I've done some, you know, we've done some bigger size flat roofs that are, you know, down to almost big.

In the commercial world, per se, we don't actively bid on commercial projects, but we've done a lot of EPDM roofs.

We actually did a project up in Virginia last year, which was actually a welded flat roof, and so that's a little bit of a different system.

So we have a lot of familiarity with that type of roofing as well.
