Entombed

So some of the impetus behind this show came from Chris.

I mentioned him when we did the Entombed episode.

So.

Yes.

The Entombed.

That was a good episode.

I liked that one.

You know, I always love some good, good Entombed talk.

We have Death Metal from Belgium? This is their fourth album and they are unsigned.

So if you're a fan of Grave, Entombed, or Bloodbath, you're going to like Carnation.

I like this album a lot.

I like Carnation so much more than Green Carnation.

So are we down to

your number three or? Yeah, Bull Thrower was my number one.

My number three was Entombed, Left Hand Path.

That album.

You've seen it.

So, Enslaved, Below the Lights, Entombed, Inferno, not bad.

Epica, The Phantom Agony, not bad.

Evanescence, Fallen, that is your...

What was the inspiration for this band?

Well, we have known each other for 20 plus years, 30 years, and the time was ripe when we formed this band because each had their own bands and they were not you know making their way and we just sat down and you know discussed that we want to play Black Sabbath Entombed Down kind of carcass, you know, one song era carcass kind of music.

And we don't care what the rest of the world thinks about it.

This is the time to play something that we really want to play in the same band together.

And then Mojo Head, of course.

That was kind of thing that we want to mix them and then just be Black Royal.

And we played the first rehearsals, we played cover songs from Entombed and the Swedish band called Nine.

And it just...

Yeah.

And I heard people going, I think Entombed are going to be the next Metallica.

Fucking Entombed.

I mean, I love Entombed.

I think they're one of the fucking all-time great bands.

But the idea that Entombed would be, you know, doing a song with Lady Gaga at the Grammys.

It's like, nah, come on then.

Do you know what I mean? It's ridiculous.

And also some other band.

You ever remember Entombed?

I

hear the

There's a very few death metal bands who had female singers, but most of the time it was Chuck Schuldiner, David Vincent.

I love Dismember, Entombed, Slayer.

You know, these guys, they didn't go there with a technique.

They were just screaming and screaming.

And I just want to bring in a slight caveat.

And I've left Entombed off this list because I think that'd be too obvious a choice.

I could probably fill it with a lot of Entombed music.

I'm kind of hoping that you two might have some on there so I can sort of use it as a bit of a Trojan horse to to express my enthusiasm.

But I'm going to start off with this release, 2017, so quite recent.

super shitty to the max.

But this is when they kind of clicked.

And they just, you know, we've raved about Nicky Anderson before as a songwriter from his Entombed Days as well.
