It's both a message, I don't know whether it's...

It's, for a long time, and in fact there's a whole literature on this side, is why didn't Russia hit this railway line earlier? And of course, why is all the government buildings standing? 'Cause the Anglo-Americans, uh, when they attacked, uh, Baghdad in 2003, March 2003, within weeks there was not a single major government office left standing.

Why, after in the fifth year of the war, the, the hardliners, the hawks are arguing, and that's what they go along, why should these Westerners come in, and Boris Johnson of course posturing.

It wa- it was a signal, but it also was capacity.

That's a colonial term.

Anglo-Americans coined it to describe tribes that adopted European farming, Christianity, written constitutions.

The Chickasaw never called themselves that.

And it didn't spare them from removal.

Because all ideas of suffering then had to go through this lens of suffering and recovery.

And I was always interested in how Americans and Anglo-Americans, because we're all Puritans together, focus on sexual violence rather than economic violence.

And so in the book, I make the argument that the liberals of today want to say that the greatest form of violence takes place in what I call the hidden abode of seduction rather than what Marx called the hidden abode of production.

So do you think it's an element of a class war?

And he's currently the chair of a construction company called Grafton.

And he's on the board of Anglo-Americans, a big, big mining company.

BP has said sort of to address fears he might be wearing sort of one of worn too many hats have suggested he's going to review some of these external commitments.

So you probably see him kind of pull back from at least one or two of those.

Mexicans were like, basically, it was Mexican land, but they kind of allowed a lot of people from, like, I think...

Anglo-Americans is what they called it in Wikipedia, allowed to basically settle there.

But then at some point they outnumbered the Mexicans by so much that they just kind of went and this is our land now.

And so battles happened.

absolutely funded by the institution of slavery, right? And so there's this huge head start that

the European settlers, Anglo Americans who came here and enslaved and trafficked African bodies and also the indigenous native people's bodies to do work for free so that they could benefit.

And we look at these giants in industry, right? We look at oil, we look at steel, we look at Um, insurance, we look at banking, we look at, um, all of these like legacy, uh, names and families that started their wealth building in this country on the backs of trafficked Africans.

Um, and then the rules that were created because as you know, and I loved how we started off this conversation because this is a full circle moment.

So for all of us, you know, being Latino journalists in the United States, so much of our job has become decoding Bad Bunny for Anglo Americans.

Oh, yeah.

So I think that's a shining example.

Specific mine is Anglo Americans called Quellaveco mine in Peru, I think is a standout as well.

And lastly, there's several First Nation major project coalition projects in Canada like Monago, and also there's a First Nation that has an equity stake in Canada, a nickel company.

But I think where First Nations want to get to is what's happening in New Zealand with the Maori.

Were it required to measure by a single standard the social level of peoples in history, I should be disposed to take as standard the degree of their aptitude for dominating their reflex impulses.

The Romans in antiquity, the Anglo-Americans in modern times, represent the peoples who have possessed this quality in the highest measure.

It has largely contributed to assure their greatness.

It is by their general grouping and their respective development that the various psychological elements just enumerated form the mental constitutions which allow of the classification of individuals and races.
