Engineers Without Borders (United Kingdom)

Innovation can take the form of a new product, like a piece of equipment or a software tool, a process or way of working, or a project that combines elements in a new way.

Judged by representatives from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Engineers Without Borders UK, the Innovation Champion Award considers all entrants to our six previous categories for this special award.

And the gold award in the innovation category went to ShowerCap for its sensorization and nudge technology approach to the reduction of water and energy waste in showers.

Of particular interest in hotel showers, a luxury environment is one in which users are potentially the most hostile to any cost or energy-saving impositions on their stay.

And our own virtuous nudge is Rory Harris.
