Engel scale

It's the crossover point, but it's only one point.

Now, there's a well-known pastor, and he came up with this scale called the Engel scale.

And the Engel scale is actually a simple...

It's a simple process to understand what the journey of a person is like from nothing to do with church or Christianity at all to becoming a fully faithful follower of Christ.

And the Engel scale describes this whole process that they might start their journey at a negative 10.

No relationship with Jesus, no church at all experience.

Your job is, when they encounter you, is just to be an encouragement to them.

So now they've crossed over from the negatives into the positives, but it doesn't end there.

And when you look, it goes from minus eight to plus eight with the kind of zeros to when they might, you know, um, make that commitment.

And I've overlaid big yes, little yes, healthy maybe onto that Engel scale.

And really what it's trying to establish is, if I share the gospel with somebody who's never heard the gospel, so I move them from, say, minus seven to minus six, that's actually really effective 'cause now they've heard the gospel, so long as I've communicated it in a clear way.

And so it's an attempt to, A, encouraging us in those small steps rather than expecting take... we take somebody from, from sort of minus eight to plus o- a overnight, including getting them to sign a gift aid form otherwise we've failed, you know?

So that's, uh, in a, in a headlined nutshell-
