Some children will have a very low success score where it's highly likely to fail.

So it's something we get asked about a lot because parents are very keen to avoid shunting, and it, it also harks back to just what I was saying about we view an ETV success as no shunt.

We're all high-fiving and really happy as great neurosurgeons that we've avoided a shunt.

But what matters to families is cognitive outcome.

It's very hard to answer.

So it, it depends very much on what the underlying condition is.

So for example, if you take a, a young person who perhaps has developed a slightly delayed onset hydrocephalus from aqueductal stenosis, and whether has a shunt or, or an ETV, you would expect an excellent outcome.

You know, you'd hope that they would remain shunt-free, cognitively devel- neurologically, developmentally completely normal.

... 'cause I think, uh, you're onto something here.

So there is some pretty recent data from one of our leading endoscopic hydrocephalus surgeons in the country, in the world, who is really reporting really good results with ETV-

How have you guys thought about that data in your, in your practice and in your teaching?

Like preemie IVH at the time that you put it in, which makes them, like, corrected at term, like that population?
