But can you just talk about how Second Scoop, The Maple, and you approached this coverage in the newsletter?
14:04
Yeah, so this was a really natural topic for us because our audience obviously has kind of flocked to the Maple because of Alex and Davide's existing work on Gaza and Palestine and then also, you know, the power of Israel more broadly around the world.
14:21
So this was my main topic last week.
14:24
So I did a lot of reading of all the big newspapers and CBC's coverage of the Nakba exhibit and The National Post particularly had multiple writers who were basically turned it into a beat and were reporting over and over and over again, just kind of recycling the same critical content.
14:43
One of the major themes that immediately jumped out to me was that all the critics who were being platformed.
14:50
had not seen the exhibit and the journalists writing these stories like noted that but it still raises the question of like why are we leading an article about an educational exhibit with criticism from a person who has not visited and there were articles in the globe cbc global, all of which engaged in that.
15:14
And another thing was just the framing of the exhibit as controversial.

it.
10:55
Emma, I'll get you in on there as well.
10:58
Yeah.
10:59
I just think to say that somebody is fear-mongering when three years ago they woke up next to their dead spouse, um, to say that they're fear-mongering when they say they don't want that to happen again and they're scared, really unfair comment to make.
11:17
Um, I've been inside one for eighteen months, um, and I think it's just a really, uh, unfair characterization to say that those overdoses that are happening in a site like Moss Park where I've been, to say they would have no effect elsewhere is just false.
11:36
Uh, Moss Park reversed sixty-two overdoses just in March, um, and each one of those overdoses, it could have been fatal.
11:44
It could have had a life-changing-
16:15
Emma, with the closure of Moss Park, what comes next, uh, for the, some of the people that you had talked to? Obviously, uh, in terms of the, the timeline, uh, when these closures were announced, uh, a short period of window for, for people who are dealing with addiction, but, uh, what, what did they tell you as to what they're doing next?
16:34
So the site staff, um, are preparing to continue reversing overdoses, but without any of the tools, uh, that they previously had.
