Emilio Salgari

It was in connection with this author, um, of adventure stories that is very familiar to European audiences, but hardly known in, uh, the United States.

It's Emilio Salgari.

He wrote adventure stories for children or adolescents, um, in the Caribbean, Pirates in the Caribbean, um, India in, uh, during the, uh, British rule, uh, just fascinating love stories, but also adventure, and I couldn't wait to read, um, all of his books, uh, buy a new one and devour it.

Mm-hmm.

Anything.

[laughs]

Certainly, even if you're an adult, read Emilio Salgari.

Absolutely.

I sacrifice because I want to improve the industry.

I want my peers to be able to learn For me, it's like, you know, sometimes we read books and the books bring us to a remote land and we fantasize, right? Because the writer, like Emilio Salgari and many others, They write about places that they've never been.

And it's so vivid, so real, so tangible almost that it makes you feel that you are in that spot.

So for me, it's important to share that with my peers, with my students.
