Pearl Fountain, and Other Fairy Tales-Julia Kavanagh, Bridget Kavanagh
A
32:42Annalisa BodkerNARRATOR
And so matters went on from one seven days to another—the Princess still gathering pearls, and the King her father taking them away and locking them up, and neither thinking they had enough—till the King of the Diamond Isles got tired waiting, and went off one morning without so much as ever saying good-bye.
A
33:05Annalisa BodkerNARRATOR
Indeed, he went straight off to the Queen of Emeralds, whose daughter he married that afternoon.
A
33:12Annalisa BodkerNARRATOR
The King was vexed, and the Princess felt rather sorry, but she thought she must only gather more pearls to make up for all the diamonds she had missed.
A
33:22Annalisa BodkerNARRATOR
So she went on picking them up, and when she had a heap her father took it away in a great sack and locked it up, till at length all his chests were full.

TC Tyres World of Gaelic Games on CRKC with Ciaran Neary - Mon. 07.09 2026

7:09Ciaran NearyHOST
yeah and the last game in that group then was um sleeve roo and wing gap and uh wing gap were way too strong for sleeve roo there yesterday or one eleven to four pints of credit to see rudy put it up in the first half for long stages of it but had six weeks and five of those were the first five shots on goal so uh the crucial goal just coming before half time for the impressive jack dale he ended up with two two So the Winegap led 1-11, 2-4 pints at half time with a strong breeze behind them in the second half and they really made hay in the second half, running out 2-25 to 7 pints winners and in fairness to Winegap, they're motoring nicely there now, they're into a first round, it'll be a tough game against Clunine, we'll discuss that later but 6 pints in from centre forward for James Power, 2-2 from Jack Dyle and Parag Foley wasn't listed in the subs or on the starting 15 and he came in as number 31 he's scored three points from play and very impressed with Billy Power there as well his work rate at half forward and half back line is very strong there with Pat Grace, Sean Purcell and Darryl O'Shea so Wingap definitely a team to watch and for Sleave Roo just after picking up a lot of injuries unfortunately for them and none more so than their captain there yes the one Kenny he had a heavy hit there with Sean Purcell two jugglers not hitting each other and unfortunately Eoghan Kenny came out the worst and he went off with the shoulder so if he's to miss now next weekend he'll be a huge loss for Sleeveroo as they're already missing a lot of their big players there you know Craig Phelan was out injured there yesterday so Wayne got finished in fourth place and Sleeveroo finished bottom so Group A finished with John Locks top of the table with eight points Piltown in second with eight points just losing out then to go into the league final on the head-to-head there which John Locks, Greg Nemanja in third place with six pints, Winegap with six pints, Fenians then with two pints in fifth place, and Sleaf Ruin sixth place with zero pints.

In the other group then, We said there, Emeralds and Conaghy, Nicky gave us the lowdown on that one.
C

C

and Group B then finished with Emeralds top of the table there with 8 points, their last loss coming against Conaghy Shamrocks there, St Patrick's finishing second, that head-to-head battle with Kilmacow pushed them ahead of Kilmacow, so it was a winner-take-all game, they finished up with 8 points, Kilmacow ended up then with 6 in 3rd place, Conaghy in 4th place with 5 points, Clunine in 5th place with 2 points, and then Galmai bottom of the table with 1 point, so the first round games then, on Saturday at half two, Winegap take on Clunine out in Jenkins Town.

The Emerald Tablets of Thoth - The Egyptian Warning That Predates Every Flood Myth We Know
S
5:48speaker_1NARRATOR
The first tradition is real, in the sense that it's a documented historical text with a traceable paper trail.
S
5:55speaker_1NARRATOR
It's called the Emerald Tablet, singular, sometimes known by its Latin name, Tabula Smaragdina.
S
6:03speaker_1NARRATOR
This is a short piece of alchemical writing, just a few paragraphs long, that begins circulating in the Arabic-speaking world sometime around the 8th or 9th century.
S
6:14speaker_1NARRATOR
It gets translated into Latin by the 12th century and becomes one of the foundational texts of medieval and Renaissance alchemy.
S
7:00speaker_1NARRATOR
Short, medieval, alchemical, attributed to a legendary figure named Hermes Trismegistus, who we'll get to properly later, because his story is its own tangled mess of Greek philosophy and Egyptian religion smashed together.
S
7:16speaker_1NARRATOR
But keep this fact in your head.
S
7:19speaker_1NARRATOR
The original Emerald Tablet is small.
