Elwynn Forest

Of course, the first place I tried to fish was outside, you know, like, i- in that, when you jumped off the gryphon rider in Stormwind, right there at the moat, and I couldn't catch anything.

And then I was like, "Is there fucking levels to fi- like, is there, are, are areas locked to levels?" And, like, turns out they are, and I had to, like, go to the, the crappy little pond beside, uh, uh, what's it called? The, the Elwynn Forest main town.

Uh, Goldshire.

Yeah.

Uh-huh.

Committing myself only to getting back up to Elwynn Forest.

Okay.

Like we went down...

And, and you die in one hit.

Yeah.

So I was just like, "I just wanna get back up and look at Elwynn Forest a little bit on this Saturday morning before I put this game down for a month." And on my corpse run back up to Elwynn Forest, there was the corpse.

Wait, you just, you just ran across it?

Uh, they've, they've changed a lot of the respawns, uh, the respawn tuning.

Uh, I was in, uh, I was in Elwynn Forest this morning.

Uh, I was playing on, on my, my paladin, and when you go into the, the kobold cave there, you get a quest to go k- there's a elite in there now, so you get a quest to go kill this elite.

So I killed him, and then there was a copper vein right next to where he was, so I thought, "Oh, okay, well, let me get this copper vein." While I was mid-swing on the copper vein, he respawned and started attacking me.

I found it jarring at first.

But now as I go from, like, one zone to another, when I do see the fog difference from Elwynn Forest instead of Duskwood, where Duskwood, it's like this thick- ... choking fog really gives that atmosphere of, like, being in this, this creepy wood as opposed to Elwynn.

You can see the sun shining through it almost completely clearly.

Um, I'm just, I, I adore it.

So we have two episodes back-to-back with Stormwind-related characters.

Last week was Augur, and he was related more so to Elwynn Forrest, but in the Stormwind area.

And Edmund Van Cleave is associated with Stormwind.

And mostly his early portions of his life are less thoroughly documented than his later career.

Yeah.

And then this organization ends up expanding beyond displaced craftsmen, and it starts including within them criminals, mercenaries, brigands, pirates, other alienated people from Stormwind.

And if you look in the game in Westfall and wherever the Defias are located, the Defias, I mean, there's a Defias in Elwynn Forest, there's a Defias in Westfall, a lot more in Westfall, but there is some in the woods of Elwynn Forest right outside the gates of Stormwind.

And if you look at it, I don't think I've seen one Defias that was not a human because they're all human types.

I'm, I'm, I kinda get obsessive, especially with cooking, like I do not wanna fall behind.

And so if I notice that there's a mob that drops, like in Elwynn Forest, the boars and the, the wolves drop boar meat and wolf meat that you can cook with.

Yeah.

And because I don't wanna fall behind, and I don't really wanna do fishing yet, although I probably will once it goes live, but I don't really wanna do it in beta.

Oh, cool

Like, it's interesting because I feel like the drop rates for things you need drops are higher in Elwynn Forest by a pretty decent margin, but there's probably 15 to 20 new quests, including at least two new areas with elites that are elite quests.

But they're elites, they're, they're really weird, 'cause they're elites, but they're, like, kinda chumbo elites.

Like, you can solo them at level, and that's not something I'm familiar with.
