William was an engineer and in 1903 they lived in Benalla.

By 1905 they were living in Eltham, Victoria where William was working as a shire secretary.

William died on the 11th of May 1905 at Kangaroo Ground, Victoria aged only thirty-five.

The Evelyn Observer and Burke East Record of Victoria on the 19th of May 1905 had his death notice.

On the 11th of May suddenly at his residence at Kangaroo Ground, William Henry George White, CE, secretary and engineer to the Eltham Shire, dearly beloved husband of Alice White and youngest son of Councillor J.S. White of South Melbourne.

And an obituary was placed in the same paper on the 12th of May.

White, the secretary and engineer to the Eltham Shire that took place somewhat unexpectedly at his residence Kangaroo Ground at half past eight o'clock yesterday morning from a short illness.
