Well, Bert, I've just completed an extended personal appearance tour, and now I'm in town to do Elmer Rice's very fine play, The Flight to the West.

Oh, that is a fine play.

Now, Isabel, when you return to Hollywood, I hope you'll have some more pictures like, let's see, Lost Horizons, PO2 Cities, huh? Anyway, you're such a splendid actress, I know you'll be able to suffer a lot during this performance, and come up smiling for Flight to the West.

She reached out to everybody she knew in the theater.

No one could imagine what a federal theater was.

A great criminal lawyer has an added appeal, for upon his knowledge, his skill, his eloquence, his adroitness, whether in prosecution or defense, depend matters of freedom or bondage, even life or death.

The action of our play today, Elmer Rice's notable drama, Counselor at Law, revolves around the private and public life of George Simon, a poor East Side boy who, at the time our curtain rises, has reached the very pinnacle of the legal profession.

On that occasion, we shall have the pleasure of bringing you a radio version of one of the best motion pictures ever made about the motion picture business.

Counselor at Law was written by Elmer Rice, adapted for radio by John Houseman, and edited by Howard Teichman.

The musical score was composed and conducted by Lin Murray, and the entire production was under the direction of George Zachary.
