Aberdeen only had four shots in goal in

that whole game the fourth goal doesn't come from press in that sense but the fourth goal is actually the most calamitous of them all because it's just a punt from the Aberdeen goalkeeper the defender lets it bounce off him and then it's Kevin Isbik goes in behind and gets the goal that was an absolute calamity but they've also they've not got Elliot Watt now as that holding midfielder that can turn under pressure and can always look to play forward passes so

was he? I think they only sold him for like 1.7 million it was an absolute steal the Turkish team are or something.

He's a Rangers fan, so I think there was that natural, that obvious link made there, but he went to Turkey if it was like £1.7, £1.8 million, it wasn't much at all.

But Masmanis is probably a player that he looked good playing a certain style and the system's changed and he's maybe not getting because he was a player that you fully expected to move on.

But again, I highlight Elliot Watt, I also need to highlight Elijah Just.

But it was good seeing some of the boys who are actually going to be

turning out to play.

Some of them look as if they've not stopped playing.

Celtic started the game well I thought first 5-10 minutes crowd were up for it and then Rangers started to grow into the game and then it was pretty silent and then when Rangers get the first goal I think it's a long way back this crowd are going to turn on the players and I think they did to a certain extent

The one thing that I don't think should be lost in this sometimes because there's a narrative after the game about Martin O'Neill people take their eye off the credit that should be given to Rangers, Gary, which is basically what Rangers did on the day Derek McInnes said that they were going to try and replicate the attitude, the aggression, the high press, and obviously sensible football with the players that he has at his disposal.

The three boys at the back, Makanya, looked at player Fernandes and Sterling.

And again, they were able to actually control it.

But they don't have the same control in games that they had last season.

I think they're missing Elliot Watt, I think they're missing Boy Slattery, who's gone down south.

And while they've got the ball, they don't have that overall control that we saw last season.

They absolutely dominate you from start to finish.

That's the trouble.

They've not got Elliot Watt playing on that number six who can turn his sail out of trouble now.

Right, true.

But obviously Aberdeen done their homework because they set the traps and then just pouched out the ball.

It's going to be a case of similar to Ascow last season when Motherwell, which maybe isn't the best comp for our League Cup chances because Motherwell don't win any trophies.

But, you saw their ability to rotate because the system was king and the coaching was king and it wasn't that's true the players obviously helped but it wasn't necessarily them and if you had guys coming out remember when Elliot Watt first went out for an extended period Mull probably weren't quite at their best but they were still pretty good with Priestman in there and so that's

kind of yeah so

that's the kind of hope for Hearts is that they've got all these games but they've managed to like rotate it just enough and that when it comes time to play the semi-final the team aren't absolutely dead on their feet and also as well they've got two and away after that like four or five days after the semi-final two and away it's a fucking mental run of factors

The likes of Elijah Just obviously went to Swansea City for a club record sale.

Elliot Watt, who was very impressive for them last season as well, has gone to Samson Spur in Turkey.

And then Callum Ward, who I think actually last year was the best goalie in the league by a country distance.

He's ended up at QPR.

So surely you build your transfers around that, right? Totally.

Why not try and get a Scottish left back in? Or have you seen a number of times you could get Elliot Watt from all over his cover? Is he any better or worse than Limby Cowan? Or...

Mulligan at Hibs, like, you've got guys like that, and then that gives you numbers, and it fills your positions, and it's not that expensive.
