How has the kind of comeback been with Bobby? Like how have you gradually built that fitness back? What's been the approach?
16:48
Yeah, I think I was probably a little more conservative this time than I was the first time.
16:54
My initial recovery actually was a lot better.
16:57
I had like a planned cesarean section instead of an emergency season, which I didn't think would be a huge difference, but I think it really was.
17:06
Even just things like the time of day you go in in the morning, you have a baby, you're not awake all night.
17:11
or whatever like it's all a very different experience and I had a lot less blood loss this time last time I had a bit like a big hemorrhage so there are a few factors I think that made the initial stages a little easier and I also knew what to expect I kind of knew how I felt last time and how much I could push and then I think once I got back into training I took it a little slower last time I felt like I was in a real rush because the time between the Olympics was three years I'd just come off Tokyo and I was really motivated to try and get back to training and racing as early as I could.
17:46
And yeah, I think I probably rushed it a little bit.

18 MINS LATER

19:14
... your route and I was like, "Whoop." [laughs]
19:15
10-6-3-1, yeah.
19:17
So 10 minutes, uh, I think it was just gradually getting faster.
28:48
At that point, were you getting any sort of feedback on gaps to Caitlin and Millie?
28:53
Only from Brady when I said, can you look behind and see where the other girls are? And then it was a bit tricky to see through there, though, so we didn't really know where they were.
29:02
I had a feeling Millie would be not that far away, just because she still looked quite strong the last time I'd seen her.
29:12
And, yeah, but I had no idea what pace we were running.
29:16
We tried to...
29:17
Excuse me.
29:18
The plan like that we'd sort of discussed during was stay really relaxed till 35 because I know between 35 and 36 that's kind of the last high point and then it's net downhill to the finish.

10 MINS LATER

39:11
Did she give you any tips at all throughout the week about Sydney?
4:38
Keep going.
4:38
Yeah.
4:39
I know.
4:40
And then he blames you.
4:42
Um, Wednesday morning I was in Nagoya.
4:45
The others hadn't arrived yet, so I ran by myself that day, and I had my last little session before the marathon.
4:52
So I jogged to the Nagoya Castle, and there's a nice little loop around there, which I think might be a bit GPS, uh, friendly, which was good.

8 MINS LATER

13:22
That's why you're on here.
1:44
So yeah, take it away, Ellie.
1:46
Sure.
1:46
Um, yeah, so as Nick said, lucky to get away with the win.
1:52
I still did a positive split, but I think it was probably only maybe 50 seconds or so.
1:58
Um, so yeah, I was happy with that.
2:01
I mean, my...
2:02
I think my race plan going in was a little, maybe a little more conservative for a few other reasons.
3:32
Fully agreed.
