Ellie Jean

[laughs]

Uh, i- in the 15th minute, uh, Ellie Jean goes in for a crunchy tackle on the edge of the six-yard box.

I know we haven't exactly been singing her praises this season, but I think that she actually did put in some good work this time around.

And you know I love a good, crunchy tackle.

They have good pieces, they have good players, and they have some good veterans.

Like, I think Ellie Jean has been good for them.

Erin Wright has obviously been good for them.

Um, but they've been missing that, like, personality player to drive them forward, especially with the loss of Janine Sonis.

One quick correction from last week in my discussion of Louisville.

I said it was Ellie Jean that was poorly positioned and the ball went off her.

My apologies to Ellie Jean.

That was Courtney Peterson.

You're not off the hook for that, Courtney Peterson.

yeah i remember that one yeah all right and uh well Not much more to report in the first half.

In the 50th minute, Ellie Jean is thoroughly embarrassed as she is dispossessed on the right edge of the 18-yard box, and we are punished with absolutely no hope to mitigate this at all.

Once that ball left her possession, that goal was going to happen, bar them skying it.

Yeah.

If you don't have her, then that's a drop-off in terms of your buildup.

I think you are better suited to hit it a little deeper and let Fisher and Sears and some of these players that are good in the air and go with their feet fight for it a little bit more than hoping that Ellie Jean can be the start of your buildup.

And speaking of Ellie Jean, second goal goes sort of off Jean and then Bloomer.

And I understand these things happen, but if you're Ellie Jean and you're standing there not specifically marking anyone and you're angled toward the goal and the ball hits you, where's the ball going to go? It's going to

go

toward the goal.
