Ellen Sandweiss

The Evil Dead is a 1981 independent horror film directed and written by Sam Raimi in his feature directorial debut and the first installment in the Evil Dead franchise.

The film stars Bruce Campbell, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Betsy Baker, and Teresa Tilly as college students vacationing in an isolated cabin in the woods where they find an audio tape that releases a legion of demonic entities.

Most of the group suffer from demonic possession, forcing the sole survivor, Ash Williams, played by Campbell, to survive an onslaught of increasingly gory mayhem.

Raimi, Campbell, and producer Robert G. Tappert and their friends produced the 1979 short film Within the Woods as a proof of concept to build the interest of potential investors, which secured $90,000 to begin work on The Evil Dead.

join us which apparently is sam raimi's voice um that is uh ellen sandweiss as cheryl williams ash's sister yes because it's two couples apparently although one of the when one of them dies the boyfriend doesn't seem to care that much right but uh yeah so it's two couples and then and then cheryl it's it's ash and linda and then scott and shelly they do they do call ash ashley a whole lot in this movie Yes, he's Ashley Ash J. Williams.

And I think this speaks to a little bit of what makes this movie work so well as well is that not only do you get the gore fest it becomes with the demons and there's obviously they have said that like Texas Chainsaw was a big influence on them.

uh, for helping create that atmosphere.

Linda, played by Betsy Baker, possessed by Deadite, decapitated with shovel, though resurrected.
