Elk River

The man accused of killing the 16-year-old, his father, who is representing himself, never asked her a question.

Jordan Collins Sr. is charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of his son, whose dismembered remains were found in a garbage bag at a landfill in Elk River last year.

Investigators say Collins Sr. killed the teen with a knife and tried to get rid of the evidence.

Prosecutors told jurors that Collins Sr. treated his son like trash and warned them the evidence they will see is graphic.

This season really had a solid season.

I thought they were going to go far, and they lose the opening round to Elk River.

And what's your thoughts on that matchup? Once again, anything can happen in the state tournament.

But, boy, I thought this Bobcat team was well-rounded.

And I don't know why the catcher didn't run him down the line.

He decided to hold down the fort and somehow Klabitz snuck his foot in there and the umpire made the call.

Yeah, exciting finish there in that game against Elk River.

And it was Dan Casazas' drilled shot to the right field gap with Klavitz on second.

Our top headline today, we are following a developing story out of Elk River.

Here is what we know as of this recording.

The school district says they sent students home from Elk River High School at 1045 this morning.

They say they're investigating a threat specifically directed at the high school.

Students were released out of an abundance of caution.

And I think it's very fitting that the Exaltation of the Cross here falls on the day after we just heard a, uh, you know, our Gospel passage about forgiveness.

And I was thinking yesterday, uh, in our travels, we attended Mass at, uh, St. Stephen's, I believe it was, in, uh, up, up in Elk River, Minnesota.

Beautiful church, uh, beautiful congregation, beautiful Mass, uh, great homily, all the things great.

But as I, as I was reflecting upon this, this call that we had i- in, in the Gospel to, um, offer forgiveness as we have been forgiven, I got to thinking about my own life and, and some of the struggles that some other people have had, and maybe their lack of, uh...

39-year-old Jordan Dupree Collins is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jordan Collins Jr., known as Manny.

The teen's remains were found in an Elk River landfill in June 2025, weeks after he went missing.

Authorities seized several knives from his father's apartment, and court filings allege bloodstains found in the apartment matched Manny's DNA.

The trial is expected to last several weeks.
