So Betty, you have a framework with rites of passage as you use it with devices.

Yeah.

So I got into it through devices, but what I realized, kids really need scaffolding with devices.

A lot of us parents, I was guilty of this myself, hand the kid a phone at a certain age.

Off you go.

Uh, Betty, what are some of the resources that you share on this? Where can people get those?

I'm not.

I live in California in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I grew up there.

I spent 33 years of my life there, and I have several friends and family still there.

And what I'm seeing both there and here and all over the world, which is – amazing, is this spontaneous creation of these moments together where, you know, people are, you know, if you look at some of the footage of what's going on in the, you know, on that, you know, Hennepin in 26, or sorry, Nicollet in 26, where Alex Petty was murdered, you know, there's a spontaneous creation of an altar of objects, of moment, of beauty, of photos, of prayers, whether it's real, you know, lowercase p prayers, or prayers from traditions, you know, that people are and musicians spontaneously singing, creating community through voice, through bands, through drummers lining up on the stone bridge playing drums, you know, this kind of expression, creative expressions to sort of metabolize these feelings, which are so complex.

And I'm seeing that in family systems, too.

And, you know, I've been talking to several families where, you know, they're like, how do I talk about this with my kids? You know, how do I tell my kids that this is happening up the street? You know, and, you know, there's obviously the parent needs to be to protect and help the kids feel safe.

Betty, can you talk about the grief and hope threshold ritual?
