Elizabeth Hargrave, everyone knows from Wingspan.

But this is one of her most recent ones, Sanibel.

I'm going to jump on that Elizabeth Hargrave train, but instead like shout out Wormspan, which was done by Connie Vogelman.

So I deeply enjoy like little dragon creatures.

I don't always get to play the new Hotness, but this time we did.

We played Wingspan Pocket by Elizabeth Hargrave.

And this game condenses the full Wingspan game into this not really pocket size, but way smaller box.

And the gameplay is just like the physical content.

Specifically calling out Tom, what do you think? Are their actions inappropriate for selling for the setting that they're in? Is he wrong for finding issue in their preference towards the same game repeatedly in a public game meetup designed to help people in the congregation meet each other?

Elizabeth Hargrave is okay with this.

They were like, why are you talking to us and not Jamie? And it's a kind of game that we play where it's just to get people who are interested in pitching you.

Because you guys very actively take pitches and are very open to first-time designers, such as one Elizabeth Hargrave you may have heard of.

The first game was through you guys.

And so when people are thinking of submitting to you, we just like to try to triangulate what the shape of game you're looking is.

The next one I want to talk about as an update is we did obtain a copy of Wingspan Pocket.

So Wingspan is a very famous game by Elizabeth Hargrave, of course, where you are collecting bird views into your portfolio.

There is like, you know, all these different habitats of birds as you go birdwatching at these different habitats.

Each of these lines activates a different power, and then the birds you've collected along those lines may also activate, and it's a great sort of engine-building game that's been very, very famous because people love birds.

So if you want a meatier game, Wingspan.

Of course.

But... like also wingspan was such a hit amongst mainstream more mainstream players uh i think they would love this one because it's even simpler there's like less to set up uh you still have the same objective style objectives and just for scoring at the end it's just a way simpler game so yeah if you're like i want to introduce more people to the games and you already think about wingspan wingspan pocket is probably the better one to intro game yeah intro game to bring new people into it So, yeah, that's also still designed by Elizabeth Hargrave.

Okay, first you had me at Elizabeth Hargrave, first of all.

Well, again, obviously, this is part of the Wingspan universe from Elizabeth Hargrave, who put out one of the biggest games of all time about birds and their different habitats and what they do and how they do it.

There's a couple things different with this particular expansion because it's also a standalone game.

It plays one to two players and it has a duet mode.

Or actually, board game straight.

uh played it but i don't remember much about it but i do i did rate it high

yeah it's often cited i think by anthony especially as one of the best solo games of all time i think you play this game one or two players it has a star trek version again which i'm going to say is better just because star trek uh but i have not played nation i've played the star trek version so number 38 Wingspan Elizabeth Hargrave she's back and she's better 2009 oh 2019 I'm sorry yes Dave

so after I mentioned that the library once we teach Splendor and eventually Azul I will try to get people to experience Wingspan if they if they've enjoyed several other games they've been visiting just because of you know, the birds and the beauty of the game and the point scoring and the decision-making a fantastic game.

We are currently working on the next set of cards for wingspan that are not designed by Elizabeth.

So the first original set of these, we called them promo packs.

We called them, these were designed by fan designers, people who know wingspan really, really well.

That's the source of the word promo.

So we're looking for a different term for it.

And I don't want to use the term expansion or mini expansion because I want to use that term specifically for things designed for Wingspan by Elizabeth Hargrave specifically.

So are there any other terms used for small packs of things, small packs of cards? And we don't want to use the term booster either, because booster insinuates randomness and collectability.
