Former pardon attorney Elizabeth Oyer yesterday filed a lawsuit against the Justice Department for unlawful firing after she said she declined to recommend restoring gun rights to actor Mel Gibson, a vocal supporter of Trump.

Oyer refused to ignore concerns surrounding Gibson, and after refusing another request from a staff member of then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch, she received termination papers.
