Eliot Rosewater

and they might be thinking oh no this conversation isn't for me it's going to be x y and z right so what would you say about that

well several things uh number one when i came up with the concept of this story i was reading god bless you mr rosewater by kurt vonnegut kurt vonnegut um is one of those writers that got me into this over 20 years ago.

And in that particular story, which is one of my favorite Vonneguts, Elliot Rosewater is a very complicated figure.

I wanted to title it as such, one, because I just think we as a society and culture have lost so much when it comes to nuance and subtlety.

But also because, darn it, it has a very... impact.

In the veterans hospital, in the psychiatric ward after the war, Billy is trying to recover from a nervous breakdown.

He's sharing a room with a man named Eliot Rosewater.

Rosewater.

I love him.
