Elin Hilderbrand

You may think I'm crazy, but I am a lover of any sort of like thriller, mystery, beach read.

So I just finished The Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica.

She's like a fantastic writer of mystery kind of thriller stuff.

That's great.

If she's ever on my show, I'm gonna apologize right now.

Uh, Hilderbrand.

She's written a couple things that you may have read [laughs], you may have read in life, and everything happens on Nantucket.

But he sends me this note, and he says, "You know, when I read about you and the podcast, I immediately thought, 'This guy gets it.' I wrote this book to try to make sense of love, loss, depression, addiction, and some of the biggest mistakes of my life, and I never imagined so many people would connect with it.

Oh my God, imagine being Emily Henry and having to write, like, romance after romance and...

Okay, actually, Elin Hilderbrand is a great example of this.

I'm a huge Elin fan.

She sets all of her books in Nantucket except for the series in St. John, and she retired because she's like, "I can't write about...

I'm all for a pivot.

I think, I can't imagine being an author and not pivoting.
