Elijah Harkless

Some of these, of course, aren't going to matter a huge amount.

EJ Harkless is listed questionable for Detroit.

The artist formerly known as Torian Prince plays for Detroit.

He is questionable.

Cade Cunningham, obviously.

Danish Jenkins, rookie Abuka Okori, and brand new two-way contract player Elijah Harkless.

So these are the four point guards that the Detroit Pistons carried during the preseason.

what i want to do is go over each individual player talk about them a little bit and kind of give you guys my outlook on these individual rooms um who's going to be starting obviously who's going to be the backup third string uh fourth string so let's get into the starting point guard i think we can all agree it's gonna be kate cunningham I think 100% of you guys would agree with me that Cade will be the opening day starting point guard.

That's just my opinion.

Maybe some people believe that I'm a little bit too high on Abuka Okori, but that's what I think of him.

And to end the point guard room, we have to talk about Elijah Harkless.

Now, he is a two-way, and...

Uh, Chaz Lanier's three-point shot helped the Pistons tie the game.

Elijah Harkless and Isa- uh, Isaac Jones came in.

Harkless got a strip and a steal, and scored, so it's one oh six-one oh four.

And then Obuka Okorie was just really showing his scoring potential.

I mean, uh, Tolu looks good out there.

Uh, Chaz is, you know, making, you know, clutch, uh, three-point shots to, you know, tie the game.

Elijah Harkless, like He's a two-way guy.

Uh, I don't really think we're gonna see too much of him, but, I mean, that's a very, very deep backup point guard that you'll probably see a lot in the Motor City Crews, and he's a two-way contract.

Isaiah Jones, 20 minutes, had 14 points, 4 out of 10 from the field, 1 out of 5 from three, 5 out of 7 from the free throw line.

I think he will get better with more reps. Elijah Harkless, another one of the Pistons' two-way players that you'll probably see on the Motor State Cruise a lot.

At seven minutes, didn't really do anything, but still like his overall effort.

Danish Jenkins in 16 minutes had six points, three rebounds, four assists, two turnovers.

I can't remember the last time I've seen a basketball game where you have both players ejected.

Usually it's the one or the other, but you had no Danish Jenkins, which I honestly think great for Abuka Okori, great for Elijah Harkless, who got to play a little bit in the fourth quarter in overtime.

But I mean, like I've never seen just a double technical and then a double ejection Like that in a damn preseason game.

Again, Ben Taylor, like one of the worst officials in the NBA.

But, you know, the shooting performance was really bad.

We can point that out and be objective.

Elijah Harkless, another one of the Detroit Pistons two ways.

I love that he wears number 94 because he picks up all 94 feet.

Dennis Jenkins, um, has played eight minutes and hasn't really done too much of anything.

And, um, so yeah, I, I'm curious to see what, um, Okorie can cook up, as well as, um, Elijah Harkless, who we haven't really talk, talked about.

But he's played with the Utah Jazz for, um, the last couple years, and they brought him in to be a, a depth guy, um, at the point guard position.

So, um, honestly, uh, the biggest takeaway that I've got from all, you know, from this first half is that, um, the, the Suns really came out and played a lot harder, got on the boards early, and have dominated in, i- in that regards.

I could see with this very bizarre defense that Will Hardy threw out that all I was watching was Darren Peterson.

Because I kind of understood that it was analogous to the weird Elijah Harkless defense that they deployed in the spring, but not exactly.

But I was like, all right.

Once I saw the weird defense, I was like, I got to lock in on two guys, Jaron Jackson and Darren Peterson.

Well, and to be fair to him, everybody looks kind of terrible in that defense early on.

I think, you know, while that while that scheme and it's weird to like, we don't have to sit here and spend 20 minutes talking about a gimmicky defense in game one of the preseason that we might not see again.

But it was different from the Elijah Harkless defense in that the whole logic of the Elijah Harkless defense was this guy's super annoying and he's going to be in your jersey with you.

And you might still score 20, but he's going to be annoying enough that everyone else can stay home and you're not going to have 12 assists tonight.

The smalls, there is Fannapants, because I had Taurean Prince as the 10th man.

There's Ebuka Okoro, Chaz Lanier, and EJ Harkless is there.

But look at the big man depth, man.

Ugana Onyenso on a two-way insane block rate player, but that's a third string two-way center.
