Elijah Brown

Um, Jedd said that he's a lot better and they just felt they didn't wanna take the chance to getting him hit.

But Chris, this is pretty much what we saw out of, um, Elijah Brown in spring ball and fall ball, um, where he would look good at times, but he would also turn the ball over.

He would.

I, I give a lot of credit to Elijah Brown tonight.

Uh, on the road is never easy.

As you were documenting to us in our chat, um, the fans were pretty hostile it sounds like.

... at Ross Ade Stadium against Purdue, where Elijah Brown tries chucking up deep to Desmond Roebuck, and I feel like that was going to be, like, the, the theme of the game for a while, right? Where we're, we're sitting here in the press box and it was just kind...

I, me, me, personally, I took a red-eye to get here, and then s- uh, v- v- wind, dri- wind up driving several hours.

I think I got two, maybe three hours of sleep-

I say all this because I, I was expecting the game to go a very different way after that happened.

And to see Washington rebound the way that they did was very, very impressive to say the least.

And I was looking forward to see what Elijah Brown would do just because of the way he came in in the Iowa game and kind of responded after, kind of, on short notice, coming in after the injury and he, leading three touchdown drives ultimately in that game.

And then starting the game with an interception against Purdue, I was kinda like, "All right.

But they should beat Purdue.

Uh, they got this, uh, Elijah Brown in, and as I-

He, he threw a pick on the first play

... all I said was, if he gives you competent play, he's your starting running forward.

You may never see him in a Duck uniform again.

You may never see DeJuan Williams in a Washington uniform ever again.

It's more, you know, kind of Wayne Knight a- and a little bit of that defense, especially we saw last week holding Oregon to just 15 points.

Also, Elijah Brown will start for Washington against Purdue tonight.

He's been working with the first team this week as Desmond Williams is working his way through a rib injury.

So they'll have a different quarterback.

That said, they haven't been great.

Um, and some people say Jedd Fisch got bailed out, uh, because he got, he, he got to bring in the, the most popular guy on campus, the backup quarterback, Elijah Brown.

That's why my thumbnail says Brown v Brown.

You've got Elijah Brown squaring off against Ryan Brown.

If you don't know much about Elijah Brown, um, Washington's starting quarterback this, this year, um, it could be because you just haven't paid attention to, to the former Pac-12, or pardon me, Pac-12, Pac-10 teams.

Um, Elijah Brown is a transfer from Stanford.

He played his red shirt freshman year, um, two years ago, or was it last, last year.

Uh, he played, played in six games, had three starts, uh, completed 58% of his passes.

Faumai伊阿麻莉亚巴, who they paid top dollar for in the transfer portal as a running back from Minnesota, already o- 117 carries, 549 yards, nine touchdowns.

It really feels like for this Washington squad, they brought in Elijah Brown as a transfer from Stanford, and if you don't know his history, he was the quarterback who played at modern day after Bryce Young went to Alabama.

So he had massive shoes to fill as only a sophomore.

Played some good football, went to Stanford, now he's at Washington.

When he stepped into that game in the second half against Iowa, it felt like the team was kind of playing with Deamon Williams.

They were playing for Elijah Brown.

He was distributing the football, and by that point, the game had kind of already gotten out of hand, but he was able to get the ball into playmakers' hands.

And man, if he can unlock what Desmond Roebuck can do, he's a phenomenal wide receiver.

He wanted to leave the team.

So maybe it's a positive that he's not playing, but it's still, um, you know, Elijah Brown's first, you know, road start of the year.

I know he had one road start last year for Stanford.

They went on the road against North Carolina.

Now his defense is a mess.

It's gonna be Elijah Brown at quarterback, the Stanford transfer with Williams out for this one.

But it's really kind of going against just the situation for Purdue.

They lost 19 consecutive Big Ga- 10 games in a row.
