Eliezer Mayenda

We'll fly.

Look, when you were just speaking there, I was just thinking, look, we got rid of Mayenda, I can't remember, maybe halfway through the window, and we replaced him on deadline day with an 18-year-old striker.

I don't know whether that's a bit of naivety from the board or whatever,

maybe not

Mmm.

Mmm.

And that's on Alderete.

It was like that goal that Mayenda scored against Coventry in the playoffs.

The type of position on the pitch and everything.

Where you're just looking and, I mean, obviously we were buzzing at the time, but you're going, what on earth is he even thinking of there? And you're so right.

Rennes responded by adding greater attacking presence.

Bulave Diarra and Eliezer Mayenda entered the game while Stade Rennes committed more players forward.

But this was becoming a test of more than tactical adjustment.

It was becoming a test of patience.
