like yeah you nailed you nailed the nebby rabbi i was just playing myself but uh thank you so that's also sometimes the distinction we're all like friends i say it's a little bit like uh the three stooges sometimes but like sometimes they're shemp instead of curly you know what i mean so j sketch was like me ami and mikey together and i i had known mikey also from like You know, the Jewish comedy world's very small to begin with.

At one point I was talking to him about it and about that Esther sketch.

And then we like, you know, we all, we realized like Mikey was living in New Jersey and Ami lives in New Jersey and I'm in New Jersey.

So we were able to make it happen.

And then slowly we were just able to like, have, hey, we got to do like, hey, we have a Shavuos idea.

Then we did the Shavuos shirim and stuff like that.

So how do you get there?

Those are the conspiratorial volumes.

But here's the thing.

I think this comes to a whole point of ignorance about Judaism.

And I really do feel, and I do this with my comedy a little bit, where even if you don't, get exactly what i'm saying you can tell it's funny and i'm trying to do it from and all three of us i think we definitely try to do from a point of pride of about our judaism and there's a way to do it where you're like leveling up the audience as opposed to you know i think there's a lot of jewish media out there that just like brings it down to the most common denominator and says like you know my grandmother's kosher and like that's all they do they don't go into it And I will always say, like, the dissent of how bad, you know, Jewish representation is in the media, I think, has really gotten there.

Like, I still talk about how great it was Jackie Mason on The Simpsons as Hershel Krusty's father.

Mm-hmm.

Not just that episode is great, it is such a good representation of Judaism, but they also do it accurately.

What's the right thing to

So how did you, how did you do that?

Um, it's also just I, I, I'm trying to think about it.

Like I, I think I-- one of the things is Eitan Levine, who is a comedian, all, you know, that I, that went to Hawaii with me and whatever, and he also does a lot of these Jewish shows, but he does a lot of Chabad's and, and different kinds of more, I would say, egalitarian, for lack of a better term, non-denominational spaces or different, different things that where I'm very much in the Orthodox circuit.

Um, he was doing-- I did some shows with him in like different colleges and stuff like that at Hillels and things like that.

Um, I, you know, I think I realized that there, there are Jewish people that like need this material and need comedy.

Um, and there were like these shuls around, and I would just start doing it, you know, a bit more and more, and I, I had more time to, to...

Like once I started doing these shows at, like, at Caroline's at, at, at different clubs, and Caroline's was one of them in New York City, where I would just be like, okay, I get more and more, and then I'd be like, "Okay, let me write for these HASC shows, uh, HASC fundraisers that were like once a year." Um, I also got very lucky.

Is there, like, a secret, you know, uh, contemporary system?
