Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund

The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund, also known as ESSER, earmarked money for school districts to spend annually until 2024.

And school districts use that for a lot of things, but it was really a popular time to use that money to improve facilities and to do that kind of deferred maintenance that school districts had left on the shelf for a long time.

I also need to mention that a lot of schools used that money to hire new staff, school psychologists, social workers, new program leads, literacy experts.
