Sigma is big on modularity with this line of cameras, and of that, the company says, quote, you can strip it down to a bare, pocketable street photography box adapted with vintage lens for a unique look, or build it up into a heavy-duty production rig with cine lenses, matte boxes, and wireless monitors, end quote.

Now, one of the really cool things that you can get for the new FP2 is Sigma's EVF21 external electronic viewfinder.
Sharky JamesHOST
7:17
This optional EVF has a beautiful 5.76 million dot OLED with 0.88 times magnification, which can be tilted up to 90 degrees.
Sharky JamesHOST
7:29
And rather than sliding into a hot which this camera doesn't have, you can slide it into a USB-C port instead.

SD card slot.
Sharky JamesHOST
11:21
This body takes a new battery that shares the same form factor as the original, but promises roughly 30% longer battery life, yielding 370 full res images or 130 minutes of video.
Sharky JamesHOST
11:34
The new Sigma FP2 is available to pre-order right now from Roberts Camera and Elsewhere for $2,199 body only and in a kit with their EVF21 for $2,749, thus saving $169 when purchased in that kit.
Sharky JamesHOST
11:45
And it's going to start shipping on November 11th of 2026.
Greg CromieHOST
6:26
It rotates up and it rotates down, and that's kind of it.
Greg CromieHOST
6:29
um but it doesn't have an evf now you do have to buy they do offer a separate evf and apparently they have other accessories on the way that's the rumors anyway um so that evf though i mean even on the even on the one that came out the original fp at camera house that original evf is is selling for about four thousand dollars for the mark one version of this camera What? Oh, with the
Justin CastlesHOST
6:56
EVF bundled.
Justin CastlesHOST
6:57
No,
Greg CromieHOST
6:57
no, no. Yeah, with the EVF.
Greg CromieHOST
6:59
So it's about, no, no, no, no.
Greg CromieHOST
7:00
I think it was $4,000 for the EVF on its own.
Greg CromieHOST
7:04
No, this one's not that expensive.
Jared PolinHOST
18:14
And it is what it is.
Jared PolinHOST
18:15
I'm just going to, but that's why I recorded the EVF today to do it.
Jared PolinHOST
18:18
Now, when I was photographing the kids, it was fine, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Jared PolinHOST
18:23
Also, I'm reviewing it from a photography standpoint.
Jared PolinHOST
20:00
So yeah.
Jared PolinHOST
20:01
And yeah, I get it.
Jared PolinHOST
20:02
Oh, you want a small size? This isn't small once I put this EVF on it.
Jared PolinHOST
20:05
And you must shoot with an EVF if you're serious about photography.
Korey BartosHOST
3:56
I think this is a step in that direction, though.
Korey BartosHOST
3:58
I think the EVF is kind of interesting, like the implementation of it's kind of like clunky and huge.
David SargentHOST
4:04
Yeah, it is.
David SargentHOST
4:05
I like the idea, but I don't like how it looks.
Korey BartosHOST
6:40
yeah i mean i don't even know if i necessarily think that they're trying to position themselves in any small little pocket i think they're just like trying to have a big catalog from the the most consumer kind of person that just enjoys the the art of photography to people who are seriously doing work and i you know their lens is we've talked about them for the last two years how good they are and how how far they've come and then they have this body that like if they could figure out like if they could have one of their engineers who clearly isn't a human being because he's never held a camera um like figure out what a human hand is positioned like and shaped like Maybe they could have a body that people would enjoy holding because really that's the only thing that's weird about this camera.
Korey BartosHOST
7:29
All the other specs are fine.
Korey BartosHOST
7:30
Even having an external EVF as an option, it's still sub three grand with the EVF, which is crazy.
Korey BartosHOST
7:36
It's like a $2,000 camera.
Stephen EckertHOST
1:15
on shooting it up there? We'll see.
Stephen EckertHOST
1:17
I'm going to say I'm going to try and make you shoot up there and you're not going to, or you're going to instantly stop shooting after the first 10 minutes because you're going to realize it doesn't have an EVF and hate it.
Jared PolinHOST
1:28
No, I'm getting an EVF.
Jared PolinHOST
1:29
Oh, you are getting the accessory.
Jared PolinHOST
1:30
I already told them you better have accessories there for the EVF.
Jared PolinHOST
1:33
Good, good.
Jared PolinHOST
1:34
Because we'll go over the specs in a minute when we get to it, but the new camera doesn't have an EVF, but there are attachments that you can get.
Jared PolinHOST
1:42
But my whole thing is I'm going up.
Jared PolinHOST
14:16
And so I get the camera yesterday in New York City.
Jared PolinHOST
14:19
At first, they handed me a bag that didn't have the EVF in it.
Jared PolinHOST
14:24
And I specifically said, look, I'm not shooting the camera if I can't put the EVF on it.
Jared PolinHOST
14:28
So then they found one that had an EVF on it.
Jared PolinHOST
14:30
So then I got the one with the EVF.
Jared PolinHOST
14:32
Then I was like, do you guys have a hand grip? Because holding onto this box is terrible if you don't have a hand grip.
Jared PolinHOST
14:39
So then they have a hand grip.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
35:27
I have 10 categories here.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
35:29
body mount, sensor, LCD, EVF, control scheme, IBIS, autofocus, video, and special features.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
35:39
And I put them all on screen now so you can see all of the pieces that are available to draft in each of these.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
35:45
So the only one that has multiple is the mount because I figured there should be one gimme.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
39:20
camera.
Chris NiccollsHOST
39:20
This is nuts.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
39:22
You better be careful because in EVF, you can have the 5.76 million dot 4000 nit one, which is on the Z6 III.
Jaron SchneiderHOST
39:29
The 9.44 million dot that's in the A1.
Nacho CondeHOST
48:45
So it's such a, such a cool system to use.
Nacho CondeHOST
48:48
And I see that it also now has a EVF, has a electronic viewfinder, which is kind of a nice thing too.
Morgan SaignesHOST
48:54
Oh, it didn't have one.
Morgan SaignesHOST
48:54
Oh, yeah.
Chris NiccollsHOST
60:23
I, you know, this is, uh, this still, it's very cool.
Chris NiccollsHOST
60:27
Like I love that OM system put an EVF on this camera and they really kind of, they did not do that whole like, Oh, this is for smartphone users upgrading, blah, blah, blah.
Chris NiccollsHOST
60:39
And they don't need any, like, no, they were like, we're going to put an EVF on this.
Chris NiccollsHOST
60:42
They didn't really, I mean, they did say like, yeah, you know, beginners might like this camera.
Chris NiccollsHOST
60:46
That's kind of who we're making it for too.

15 MINS LATER

Chris NiccollsHOST
75:55
which I don't think is smart.
Chris NiccollsHOST
75:56
You know, like one person makes a vlog camera, then everybody's like, oh, we all have to do vlog.
Chris NiccollsHOST
76:00
And then, you know, one person's like, oh, smartphone users don't want EVF.
LucasHOST
30:07
So, to run through, like, some of the inter- which, which I'm like, "Who is this for?" And it's just, like, for our friend's mom, and that's it.
LucasHOST
30:13
The, they improved, they improved the EVF.
LucasHOST
30:17
So, it's, like, an OLED 3.69 million dot EVF.
DanielHOST
30:20
Mm-hmm.
LucasHOST
30:20
It's, like, a pretty good upgrade.
DanielHOST
34:10
Mm-hmm
LucasHOST
34:10
... to need this over their phone.
DanielHOST
34:12
The thing that, that to me that stands out about it so far of what you talked about is actually that it has an OLED EVF.
