Electronic data capture

It was while I was there that we got introduced to data interoperability for clinical research.

How are we getting data out of a digitally captured system like an EHR and moving that data electronically into the electronic data capture systems and EDCs that are being hosted by big pharmaceuticals and sponsors? And we as an institution, we're spending millions and millions of dollars on the duplication of data that are already been captured.

And with manual data entry, you're going to have misses and errors because we're human.

We make mistakes.

You look at so many numbers throughout the day, you're going to miss them from time to time.

Also, that data needs to be transformed and harmonized as it goes into the EDC.

So incredibly complex.

So we started looking at a bunch of companies out there that could do this.
