I am your host, Trevor, and today I am overjoyed to be joined once again by Rachel Harrison, who is the New York Times bestselling author of Play Nice, So Thirsty, Black Sheep, Such Sharp Teeth, Cackle, and The Return, which was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a First Novel.

Her short fiction has appeared in Guernica, in Electric Literature's recommended reading as an Audible original, and in her debut collection, Bad Dolls.

She lives in Western New York with her husband and their cat slash overlord.

Her new book, Kiss, Slay, Replay, comes out from Berkeley on September 8th this year.

My guest today is Saad Selzinlov, a Turkish writer based in Amsterdam.

His work has appeared in Electric Literature, Canyon Review and Shenandoah.

Among other journals and his stories have been finalists for the Los Angeles Review Short Fiction Prize and the Passages North Wozniad Short Fiction Prize.

He also edits the literary journal The Bulb Region.

And eventually I became an independent publisher.

I was publishing books and I had a website, Electric Literature, and a couple of other websites that have to do with books like Literary Hub.

kind of had this career straddling digital and physical books in general.

And that whole time I was watching as independent bookstores went out of business.
