16-year-old boy is dead after getting hit by a car while riding an E-scooter last evening in Bridgewater, near the corner of Union Avenue and Adamsville Road.

Police say the vehicle was about to turn when it hit the boy.

No charges at this point.

Officials have not shared the pilot's condition, but police say he was alert and conscious on his way to the hospital.

E-scooters will likely remain illegal for all riders on Pennsylvania roads until at least next year.

Legislation that would have allowed them for riders 16 and older and would have clarified rules for law enforcement appears to be out of time.

Fredericton Police have actually just started a public education campaign to explain to people where they're allowed and where they are not.

So while E-scooters are allowed on trails and in parks, E-dirt bikes aren't, and police say the only place you are allowed to ride an E-dirt bike is on private property.

So what happens for those young people who are riding their E-dirt bikes on public trails or on city streets?

Well, a lot of people probably heard about the 16-year-old who got into trouble in Fredericton recently.

Well, Khalil, when it comes to the E-scooters, presumably Fredericton will follow Moncton's lead and introduce rules eventually.

As for the dirt bikes, police say they are focused on education right now.
