I picked up Cherry Baby at the library recently, part of my ongoing interest in books by Nebraska authors, especially when they have Nebraska settings.

Rainbow Rowell is one of our state's best-known contemporary authors.

Born in Nebraska in 1973, she now lives in Omaha.

She may be best known for the book Eleanor and Park, a young adult novel written in 2012.

She's written across an impressive variety of genres from young adult to fantasy to graphic novels to today's, which is standalone fiction for adults.

Cherry Baby covers a period in the life of Cherry, which is short for Cherish, when she's in the process of divorcing her husband Tom, the author of a successful webcomic that has become a blockbuster movie.
