Elder Sign

If you're looking for a family game, Campy Creatures from Keymaster Games is a quick playing fun game.

Dice Chucking, Elder Sign, which is also in the Cthulhu from Fantasy Flight games.

If you're looking for a party style game, Mysterium, great Halloween game where you're a medium trying to figure out what the ghost is trying to tell you.

cooperative ghost stories from Antoine Bauza, which is unbelievably hard, but a great cooperative game.

I don't want to say streamlined.

Elder Signs.

Elder Signs.

Yeah,

yeah.

One's for –

Chris, would you just say the name? Oh my God, why is my brain...

Elder Signs.

Well, yeah, probably.

If you've ever played games like Defenders of the Realm or Freedom 5 or Elder Sign, Run, Fight, or Die, or more.

Tony's got his hand up.

Which one? Keep going.

Your characters can do pretty much whatever you want them to do, but they're skilled at a lot of certain things.

In the story, they have a lot of freedom to go do what they want to do.

And I think it's those heroic moments Whether it's in the board game or the card game or Elder Sign, the heroic moment when you make that big roll in the other world to get that last two Elder Signs or whatever.

It's those heroic moments that, to me, defines Arkham Horror.

Elder

Signs, actually.

Elder Signs, yes, thank you.

I had that in my head from John.

Also, Campy Creatures is a really campy little game with monsters, really cool artwork.

So yeah, it's all like, you know, the tension, uh, making choices, um, all about that actually.

And, uh, it makes me think a little bit of a more bright and shiny, uh, Elder Signs, but then not with the rolling dice, but you're also like, you know, going into rooms, getting stuff, and meantime trying to make sure the big bad doesn't win, right? But I don't own Elder Signs anymore, otherwise it probably would've been on the list.

But, uh, but yeah.

Anyway, so yeah, I really enjoy this.

And this is an expansion I tried.

This is Elder Sign Omens of the Pharaoh.

This is an expansion I've had for quite a while.

I picked it up on sale at a at a board game store.

And mostly because I had most of the other ones.

I was like, I should get this time, you know, continue the collection because Elder Sign is one of those games that I only play a couple times a year if that.

But I think it is a genuinely fun if difficult game.

You really it is very dice dependent.

I did try three expansions this month.

I got to play Elder Sign: Omens of the Pharaoh, which I've already talked about on the pod, although I don't think I've published that episode yet.

We'll have to see.

Uh, Sushi Go Party: Chef's Edition, which is like the newest expansion for Sushi Go.

So having played it this month now, I have removed it from my shelf of opportunity.

Giants Moving Tiny Furniture, Recall, and Apoth the Bakery are all games that were on my shelf of opportunity that are no longer there.

I also removed Elder Sign: Omens of the Pharaoh from my shelf of... my expand your shelf.

It's like the shelf of opportunity of my expansion material.
