I think I saw it at the El Capitan, the Disney.

And the way they get their news is they kind of check with the city offices of when they have to permit streets.

And when they do this at the El Capitan, normally what they do is they just close down Hollywood Boulevard from Highland to Orange? Yeah.

Usually it's about two blocks or a block and a half of Hollywood that gets shut down in front of the El Capitan Theater.

And in order to do that, they have to permit the city for those road closures like six weeks ahead of time.

So that's why we think that we feel good about this being the date.

But what's crazy is this is something that we've been talking about behind the scenes of New Rockstars is Dune will also be jockeying for these premiere like theater bookings and you can already have had tickets to the chinese theater for dune part three that monday night so normally what disney does for these big events is they'll do the el capitano and they'll also book out the chinese theater the big theater is there or the dolby or something like that and you'll be able to watch like they'll have it open for press or for creators or other fans who win contests and stuff like that

and for maybe less la centric um viewers a reminder.

So there, there are two movie theaters that are literally directly across the street from each other on Hollywood Boulevard, the El Capitan theater that is owned by Disney.

wondering, canonically, in the MCU, did they rebuild the Chinese

theater, or did they just be like, well, there's no more Chinese theater? Was the premiere for their Wonder Man movie at the El Capitan because of Disney? Yeah.

Or, because, like, Like, because they have the premiere.

Yeah.

And I'm wondering, like, where was that? Because the El Capitan is right across from the Hollywood.

It

wasn't the El Capitan.

It wasn't the El Cap because I know what that looks like on the inside.

Instead, it was shown on February 2, 1967 to Florida officials.

And finally, in 2002, Disney helped kick off the annual Toys for Tots campaign by donating toys at the world premiere of the Santa Claus 2, which was held at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.

Walt Disney was an original sponsor of Toys for Tots since its inception in 1947, and he personally designed the original Toys for Tots logo, which is still used today.

And that was... on this day in Disney history for October 27th.

By this point, through repeated exposure and also that relatively new sequel, the film's fan base expanded far beyond those kids who had grown up with it on the Disney Channel and on ABC Family or Freeform.

Since 2015, most years, Disney has also held multi-day screenings of the film each October at their El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, an event where many in the audience take the opportunity to dress as their favorite character in the film itself.

Through this unusual series of events, Hocus Pocus, which started as an idea from David Kirshner, went from a movie that might have been, at best, an unusual footnote in the history of the Disney studio, to a beloved film for Disney fans, particularly those fans of a certain age who also can now celebrate the film and its characters at Disney parks in both Florida and California.

That other film, the one on which David Kirshner worked with Ray Bradbury, had a very different story.

Which, you know, it's like I keep going back to it every year.

And it's funny, it's playing at the El Capitan across the street from us, even today.

Yeah, so that's my go-to.

Cool.

But that denim outfit, that picture you're speaking of, was the last day of promotion when they did a screening of the movie at, at the El Capitan.

Yeah.

And people said, "Come dressed as Tess."

And so I put back on the gear, and we did a little thank you video to the fans.

Mm-hmm.

If you look up the Jamie Lee Curtis thank you video to the fans, was done backstage at the El Capitan with somebody with a cell phone light on my face.

Yes.

Because we were all sitting there in the El Capitan at the press screening like, oh, fuck, like they made a movie movie.

Like this is something different than we've seen before.

So there's really some big chemistry happening between the kicks and the punches and the grappling.
