They played it actually at the stadium of, uh, Tottenham uh hotspur the hated rivals of my team arsenal and i know the outcome but i won't spoil it for you guido samurai is here with the salute right back at you chief and hopefully we'll have some folks arriving just a little later sunday shows you know the live version people watch football american football so uh we'll see what happens and with all that being said hey man let me tell you about the invaders oh boy american science fiction tv series 1967 1968 and uh the whole doggone thing was created by a man named larry cohen who's kind of famous for writing science fiction novels and other things and then he got into actually producing and directing science fiction and is pretty well known and there is something in my eye that of course chose right at the start of the show to reveal itself um yeah larry cohen he's he's done a ton and i mean a ton of movies and things that you probably have seen uh good old larry cohen he also did a bunch of blaxploitation movies in the 60s hell up in harlem black caesar uh anyway really talented guy he created the series for abc and uh it stars roy thinness who kind of wasn't really well known for a ton of stuff he was on falcon crest i think and some other things so he was around but i think this is what he's most known for who stumbles across evidence of an alien invasion the aliens as i mentioned disguise themselves as human beings and they infiltrate all of our institutions the police the army government school they're everywhere and uh he tries to put an end to this invasion despite the disbelief of officials in the general public he actually becomes kind of famous for being a crackpot now not super famous but every once in a while somebody will go aren't you that guy that thinks there's alien anyway and the series just to show you it was going to be top quality television it was there's one of the alien spacecraft sorry audio podcast listeners it was a quinn martin production yeah yeah so you know it's going to be good so our good friend david vincent played by roy thinness accidentally learns of a secret alien invasion and after that he travels all over from place to place attempting to foil the aliens plans and warn the rest of us about the danger you know uh he he's always trying to get proof but these aliens and i'll explain how in a second are really good at destroying any proof and as i mentioned he was like quasi famous for being the object of public ridicule you know he'll he'll be getting somebody on his side and they'll go i talked to a friend of mine he says you're a crackpot um you know the aliens are very successful at hiding their plots and that helps undermine his credibility and the aliens will also kill off uh any who discovered them and they do it in ways that are disguised to be a natural death one of them is cerebral hemorrhage another's a heart attack another one is oops his car drove off the road and stuff like that the aliens are really good at that um also and this is probably the most important thing i can communicate to you about this show it's a paranoid show i mean man it is paranoid david vincent when he meets people he doesn't know whether they're an alien or not and when he goes to someone for help he doesn't know whether they're an alien or not now there are ways to tell that i'll get to later during what i'll refer to as the creepy part of the show and uh you know as the series goes on he is able to convince a very small group of people little by little to help him fight the aliens but not very many in many episodes at least one key person um often somebody like uh uh an air force intelligence officer by the way there's gene hackman and there's going to be spoilers in this episode gene hackman he's a damn alien or there'll be a u.s army major or see that gene hackman's a damn alien or a nasa official uh they'll become aware of this threat and uh survive so there's this kind of look we're going to let everybody think you're crazy but we kind of know about the aliens and we're not going to do much about it hold on a second here In one episode, uh, called The Leeches, a millionaire played by Arthur Hill here survives an alien abduction after being rescued by David Vincent.

Uh, in another one, a scientist played by Susan Strasberg, va-va-va-voom, is convinced.
